To the last anon about mid and small cap UK stocks yeah you are right there is a LOT undervalued in UK markets but that has to be compare to US because of potential opportunity cost. You could have high returns but that needs high interest in investment in the UK, which I just don't see any time soon, which means you need to be prepared to potentially wait longer. You also have lots more liquidity and promising startups in the US. Also, I'm sure I read the other day about the Chancellor looking at CGT and other bollocks tax increases which will lower UK liquidity even further.
