I have a feeling Loopring is going to do a 2 or 3x in the near future.
Reasons:
>AMM releasing soon
>only dex that offers a true orderbook
>users in control of funds entire time
>zk Rollups make it cost way less for users
>also can have an account on loopring's layer 2 and send and receive funds on it

There is nothing else like this in crypto right now. If ETH prices continue to rise like this, the network will become crowded, and the cries for layer 2 solutions will come into effect again. Towards the end of the summer run up, we saw many layer 2's gaining traction when ETH hit $450 with high gas fees... ETH is 600 bucks now... How long until the high gas fees come back? Where will everyone go...

Also, based off the pumps of XRP and XLM (2 dead shitcoins), it seems normies might be in the game again. LRC is already listed on coinbase, and has a very low price per coin(very attractive to normies). Not that this is needed, but it is an added bonus.

Good write up, but how is loopring still necesarry after ETH 2.0?

ETH2 is made for L2. There won't be a native execution environment besides the grandfathered in ETH1 chain. Bullish as shit for L2s that are L1-like.

They have pretty much ditched sharding. ETH can scale with layer 2 solutions. Sharding most likely won't be released for several years. Plasma chains/roll ups/optimism is the future. ETH can be scaled with these alone.

I see people posting them in the TG, maybe just use one of theirs?

Also Vitalik frequently talks about Loopring too. It should really be way past OMG's marketcap by now. (OMG has zero users and usually gets 8 tx per day, the 8 tx seem automated as they all occur around the same time each day... The test net also hasn't gotten any use in months.)

No, why would you straight lie like that? They have ditched native execution environment on the shards. They shards will be used for data for arbitrary execution environments.

Right, but its not what some people thought it was going to be. The way I put it was poor, but basically vitalik has said that Ethereum will scale using roll-ups. Not sharding like most people thought.

Loopring is mentioned here, it is one of the few techs that is up and running and has had real usage. The platform may not have a ton of usage now, but this is mainly a liquidity issue. My guess is when they offer AMM (which is due next month), there will be a huge rush of people to the platform to provide liquidity. This extra liquidity will allow uniswap like functions on L2, and since people will get onboarded to the L2, they will probably stay on it and begin to use the regular traditional orderbook exchange too.

I loaded up on this after I heard they were getting an AMM. They just needed liquidity basically, otherwise they would have overtaken UNI when gas fees were so high. Gas fees will climb again now though.

Sharding and rollups are orthogonal and complimentary, people need to stop confusing the data availability part and the execution part. Sure, it's bullish for stuff like Loopring. Just stop saying sharding is "gone" or whatever, it's absolutely not true in any sense.
