I live in vancouver and just went out for a walk 10 minutes ago. People are walking and driving around by themselves with masks on. I guess people have always been this worthless and pathetic throughout history, but even after 7 months of seeing it, it hasn't gotten any less jarring. 99% of the population are literally just boys that you can program to do anything using a bit of fear and authority, and seeing a constant visual reminder of it makes me sick to my stomach

You know what, I actually do believe in the effectiveness of masks, that they help prevent the spread of viruses, especially if it's something like measles, which can last for hours airborne on a piece of dust or whatever, and I honestly think it's a good idea to wear them at places like airports, where people from all over the world cross paths with each other. That being said, thought, I feel like it's come to the point where I pretty much only wear the mask to prevent being excoriated by some Twitter mob, doxxed and then fired.

It's not a hoax, people are in fact dying and it's good to take precautions. But they shouldn't be forced on everybody even in situations or areas where it doesn't make sense. Plus in addition to the loss of freedom, the lockdowns are destructive and the damage they cause shouldn't be ignored. You need to consider the trade-offs carefully.
