>You really need to be very very resistant trader. I saw the graph of larry williams trading through that year. He went like in third or four month to 800 000 dolars and then down to 300 000 which he was for several months. There are not many traders who have balls to trade like this including me.

guess i'll just keep researching, practicing, and backtesting/forward testing, idk. currently i only trade small share sizes but it would be nice to find something that really worked well especially for day trading that i could just wash rinse repeat every day and be confident in its effectiveness enough to put large sums of my money into it.

that's my biggest fear right now, even though im well capitalized i don't use it to its full potential because im not really sure if im gonna be profitable if i keep doing a strategy over a long period of time, even if the backtesting is good. i feel like it can also be worrisome to do a dip buying strategy like i would like to do where i have prices i can DCA into and scale out of, but you have to be really confident and have faith that the price will in fact go up eventually as you keep averaging down and have larger and larger unrealized losses for a while, potentially months.

You hold til expiry or when you can buy back for a penny.
"Rolling" is buying back your covered call and selling the covered call for the week ahead.
Wheel is when you let yourself get assigned if needed and to never buy back the position. So if it went to $112 then you take the assignment and sell for $110. Then you use that as collateral to sell a $110 put.

Options question, here’s a hypothetical scenario about a fake stock called stock.x

Stock.x share price = $10

Let’s say I believe it’s going to $40.

I buy $10, $20, and $30 call options.

Question:
1) Let’s say stock.x does indeed go to $40 before expiry, will there be demand (greater fools) to buy my $10 calls?
2) if yes, why would they buy it?

There are a few traders on social media like twitter and stocktwits with a 5 figure follower count. All those followers are absolutely convinced that the traders they follow are pros and know what they are doing. They aren't wrong because those traders make a shit ton of money but just not how they claim they do. They do it on the cost of their followers. They're pump and dumpers. They load up, then move the price up a bit to make the fomo going, alert and then dump onto the plebs. You can talk to the people who fall for those scams as much as you want, even with evidence they just call you a liar because they truly want to believe that there's someone out there who already achieved what they're trying to achieve because that gives them comfort. Bill Williams was a trader too who invented some of the popular indicators but I can't find anything of him that isn't complete garbage. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bNxt298VVOw

ITM calls have intrinsic value at that point
some algo doing arbitrage trades will probably snatch it up

>> No.23646674

>>23646439
Options have intrinsic and extrinsic value. Only ITM options have intrinsic value. Extrinsic comes from speculated price movement (time, which is Theta, and implied volatility, Vega).
Your $10 call option would have $30 of intrinsic value if the stock was at $40, because if someone bought that option and exercised it, they would be able to buy shares worth $40 for $10.
Why would they buy it? Because 1, it is already worth $30, and 2, they can get leverage or hedge other positions with it without having to pay the full $40 share price. For example if it still has a month left on it and they think the price might go up to $50, they can buy the $10 call instead of buying the $40 stocks.
Deeper ITM stocks have a higher Delta and lower extrnisic value meaning they correlate to the stock price closer too and the buyer doesnt have to pay as much as a premium for them. They arent going to pay a huge premium because otherwise they could just buy the full shares.

Hey, this is a question to GME bros.
Realistically, the fundamentals are there. Now wait, I know there are people that have no idea what I'm talking about and just say "muh blockbuster", but nothing has changed.
The company isn't going bankrupt.
The revenue sharing deal with MS is huge.
Ryan Cohen still wants to take it online.
Everything is looking up.
Its still supremely undervalued.

So what is happening guys?
I honestly feel like killing myself right now. I'm this close to just blowing my brains out. This whole system is so fucken retarded.
The stock has been shorted to over 200%, I mean what the actual fuck?

I feel like if I sell I'm going to get bogged and this thing will spike next week. But at the same time, fuck.
So basically, should I hold or just kill myself? My cost basis is 9.80.

I'm thinking, maybe buying some call debit spreads expiring in january or something could be cool. Sauce for trade too: https://disclosures-clerk.house.gov/public_disc/ptr-pdfs/2020/20017460.pdf

you have a cost basis of 9.80 why are you panicking
you missed your chance to scalp on +50% profits but it's up to you to decide if GME is still worth $9.80 to you

if you were cash right now would you buy into the GME gamble at current prices, that's all you have to ask. Don't dwell on hindsight, everyone would have sold at $15 then bought back in at the bottom if they knew it was going to tank like 30% down this week

just re-assess the situation yourself and see if you still want to gamble for Q3 and Q4. The only thing that's changed is that people are panicking about covid again

Two good explinations from /pol/

I'll try to make this short. The way the test was made is that they collected lung fluid from sick patients. They did some filtering (not nearly enough) and came up with a snippet of genetic code that looked like the old SARS virus, kinda. Not really, but the science wasn't exactly an artform back then either. Voila, they think they have the genetic code of a virus. It still could be anything else found in lungs, like normal genetic waste found in other vesticles that size, but whatever. Ok, make test to see if anyone else has this piece of code in their throat. Aren't throats different than lungs, you may ask? Shut up, idiot, are you a doctor? Anyway, turns out lots of people have this code in their throats from time to time. About 20% of them also have a cough! Eureka! This code must be a virus that causes this disease that looks a lot like all the other respiratory diseases that exist. What? A bias could be formed because we only tested people that had the symptoms in the first place? And once we started testing people with no symptoms they also tested positive in much greater numbers? No, you fucking antivaxxer, they are just...uh...asymptomatic! Yea, that's the word! It effects people differently! Wait, what do you mean flu cases are down 98%?

t's all a fucking lie, there is not "one test" that gives you a yes or no answer. They test for something that all humans have, and get a number, depending on the value of the number if they say you are positive or not, and different places consider different numbers for what's positive. That's why some hospitals get %100 of cases tested as positive. It's all BULLSHIT to get the goyim in terror asking the powers that be to please enslave them for their own good. This has worked incredibly well, because the normies are many, and they act as authority enforcers themselves (like complaining when they see you outisde without a cuckmask.)
I'm tired of this cucked reality, and I'm ready to leave it, whether it is because we shit to one in which we have more freedom, or because the coof police shoots me for not accepting a vaccine.

Look into the PCR test... the friggin inventor admitted it is useless to determine if someone is actually sick. It can detect the presence of coronavirus antibody, but it cant tell WHICH coronavirus, or how much of that antibody is in you. It can generate a positive result if you got sick 6 weeks ago and still have a few antibodies kicking around in your system. It only detects the presence of it, NOT how much. It also uses cycles which amplify a sample, and it is usually run at cycle counts that, again, the inventor of the test says will always generate a shit ton of false positives. He says 30 cycles is too much, usual for Corona is around 35 cycles. Fake. Ass. Shit.

Due to its swiftness and severity, I still refuse to rule out that was COVID even if some of our tests came back negative months later. China wants you to have the virus. There are people who are now unironically fighting on the behalf of China, after reading concerted shilling efforts, and now parrot our enemies to promote the spread of SARS.

If London the city is in lockdown, and people are not able to take transport, if they are not able to go work, if they are not able to conduct their jobs at normal efficiency, if their productivity is negatively impacted, if decision makers at institutions morale / attitude towards the economic climate is impacted by all of these things, if business deals are impacted / more difficult to close, and the largest factor - uncertainty

Look, I agree with you, that if your local chip shop closes down for lockdown it's not going to mean London panics and sell-off - but to argue that this lockdown isn't going to have any effect whatsoever is bullshit - of course it's going to have an impact

Yes this is non-debatable, agreed.
However: daily new cases are way higher than in March/April but daily deaths are way lower. This has to be acknowledged. The cause for why this is so may be up for debate but the numbers are clear. We are currently dealing with a flu (it is SARS but from an impact perspective) that has about the same infection fatality rate as normal flu but is more contagious (so more would die under unimpeded spread).
I think with current data we have to take a different approach. Masks and some social distancing make sense to “flatten the curve” and keep spread from going too rampant, but the emphasis has to be on protecting the most vulnerable and letting most of the rest of society return to as much normal as possible.
When we were talking about possible IFR of above 2% lockdowns made sense. When it’s basically “yeah this year’s flu is as deadly as usual but more contagious” they don’t, that’s basically “wear a mask in solidarity with old people” time.
