i sold some silver recently. got decent prices on most of it, things with the queens face a dollar over spot.
but they offered me the same price per ounce for these 1/2 (pic related ) as they were buying generic rounds.

Lately I'm thinking about buying gems as an investment and because I love shiny rocks (maybe can use it as base to make some family heirlooms). What do you guys think of this? And do you have suggestions of which gems I should buy.

Opals are unironically my absolute favorite gemstones, but if you want to "invest" in gems you need to develop an eye for raw uncut stones and buy those cheap. Opal is soft and very easy to work, not requiring the fancy gemcutting/faceting setup that harder stones require so you could make market-ready finished cabochons and whatnot yourself.

Broadly however gemstones are a poor store of wealth because of the inherent inefficiencies in the market (relative to the efficient bullion market) and the policy of producers too meter and ration stones to maintain artificial scarcity. To really make bank you need your own gem mine (as simple as a hand-worked open pit on an outcrop). For example, some small sapphire pit mines are located an hour away from me on BLM land (file a 20 acre mineral claim for 160 bucks, cheap as fug) and the whole area has promising host mineralization which certainly holds many other undiscovered corundum deposits. Just gotta get out there fren!

Ehh, maybe not "easy" because of the tendency to fracture, get damaged by heat or loose structural water molecules, but with attention and care it's quite accessible for individuals.

Because deflation means deleveraging, and we've never before in history been this leveraged before. PM's wont suffer, they'll retain their value. Especially gold. But everything else you own, all of your other assets you own -- your car, your residence, your computer, everything you've bought, EVEN YOUR JOB -- will LOSE their value! And while it may seem that PM's "go up", their price simply corrects to their true value.
My point is, that even if you have PM's you will suffer due to everything else you own losing its value, and you may very well lose your job when the company you work at cuts expenditures or just gors bankrupt because of its debts and decreased earnings. So yes PM's will help you overcome economic distress but they won't prevent your guaranteed suffering.

Also I'd like to point out that other very important assets to have (which won't lose their value) are your skills. If you've got the experience, the knowledge and the skills you can get through a depression much better. People will seek you out for help, you can sustain yourself and you can barter with the services you provide. Also when the system resets, you'll have the edge of being one of the pioneers of the new economic system
>>23642947
The problem is that we only think about inflating the economy when times are bad -- but not deflating the economy when times are good! Keynesianism would work if people were ready to cut spending, save money and reduce their debt burdens when we're in an economic boom. But people don't function in such a logical manner. We only react when things suddenly go wrong.

That isn't very good to hear... Have you made sure that their balance sheet is good? They better have little debt, a decent amount of working capital and a good current ratio. Because if a deleveraging happens, the (little) companies with the most debt and little/no income are the first to go even if they're in the PM business
>i want maximum leverdge
Better make sure they're not overly leveraged in debt too
>currently im in BHS, PMY and KS. if silver goes as high as i think it could, these are guaranteed to go up 10x+
PMY at least has very convincing financials as well as a great project on their hands. I personally have a small position of BHS but I want to get rid of it already because of the horrible balance sheet, so I'm holding that bag until they go up again. No idea about KS.
I wouldn't say those are guaranteed to go up 10x+ and I'd advice you to look for the fundamentals more than just the market cap

Though if you're insistent on smaller cap gold miners/explorers, look into Vangold or Golden Minerals. Those are promising companies with good balance sheets, especially Vangold. So those might be great for you.

Another small cap with a much bigger exploration project that they're undertaking is one called Nighthawk Gold. I just researched them yesterday and invested into 200 shares. They have an absolutely massive property (900 square km) and are planning to continue with their aggressive drilling next year too, planning to diamond drill about 75km. Their financials are great and the share price is undervalued relative to book value. But they're a fairly speculative, long term play. They have a huge property to work on and it may take years before a mine is finally planned. Look them up if you want (be vary that it's a daunting task to go through their portfolio lmao), also their newest drilling result was awesome: https://www.nighthawkgold.com/2020-10-21-NIGHTHAWK-INTERSECTS-200-45-METRES-OF-2-01-GPT-AU-UNCUT-INCLUDING-16-00-METRES-OF-4-91-GPT-GOLD-AT-COLOMAC

dont give a fuck about financials. miners are a form of leverage to the commodity that they produce. if silver is very bullish than that debt risk is mitigated. if the commodity price is bearish or even going sideways, yeah, debt will fuck your shit up.

The fundamentals are solid as fuck - but it ALL depends entirely on the price of silver.silver goes down, i lose everything. silver goes up to ATH, i make a fortune.

Only if they do indeed produce. Microcaps are usually explorers, not producers, so in a deleveraging they won't be raking in much of the benefits of rising PM prices that producers will
>thanks for the suggestion but im not interested in any billion $ company. I need those 10x+ returns boyo
You'll get that 10x if commodity prices go up because PGM will be producing very very soon. And producers rake in the benefits.

You're right! Which is why I strongly encourage looking at their balance sheet and production goals (and whether they reach them) too. BHS has failed me by not reaching its production goals and by having an awful balance sheet. I really don't care if they have a great ground if they can't mine the ore and process it in a consistent, efficient way when they have so much debt. Their silver mine should be producing, what? 100 tons per day? And they're producing under 50 tons or something? Of course if they can make a miracle happen and reach their goals and begin making money (especially after silver has boomed this year -- shouldn't be difficult to get positive returns) then I'll regain my belief in them. But right now, I want out

If you're not worried about debt at all and you're looking for a near-term gold producer with a great ground, look into Gowest Gold. They'll be producing early 2021 and their market cap is only C$31M. They're aggressively leveraged and hell-bent on getting their Bradshaw mine to a production phase and will try to develop multiple gold mines inside their property. I might invest in them myself actually but maybe after they dilute their shares a bit.
Also yeah again Vangold and Golden Minerals good, Nighthawk maybe amazing in the long run maybe not

depend if you have a lot of income to invest and if you care about losing everything. For example, if you have already some physical PM and large income / cash aside, then putting it into major like First majestic, Alexco, Endeavour etc. If you are like me and have large physical PM and/or don't care about risk, then small junior with ounce in the ground and good balance sheet is a nice compromise like Impact Silver, Aurcana or Dolly Varden.

If I had to pick a major, I'd pick a gold producer. But I'm not into majors because they pay divvies, and I'm not a fan of divvies because of the tax headache I have to go through with them (maybe when I'm older and want a steady income flow). Microcaps, small caps and medium caps can all be great investments but their balance sheet and projects must be good. Sometimes investing in a company with a bad balance sheet can be justified in my opinion though if their project portfolio is great.

If you are willing to say roughly where in yurope you are I can see if any valuable minerals, gems or fossils are known. Don't just stay focused on gemstones because all sorts of stone is of value. For example, that sapphire locality near me is cool but I'm more interested in the adjacent massive outcrops of high quality steatite soapstone which is used for sculptures and pipes and whatnot. Being worth just $4.00 a kilo isn't much alone, but when there are 10s of thousands of kilos laying around on and near the surface, a very lucrative and reliable business can be set up easily. I don’t know about you all... but because of the 2nd Corona lockdown this is the first time since college that I’ve felt alive. I have lots of silver and been waiting for something like this to happen for 5 years. The point where things get so bad that 1 silver merc dime will buy me a blowjob from a formerly well to do housewife and her 18 year old daughter at the same time. I’ve been waiting in the shadows laughing at these cuck husbands who buy their wives range rovers instead of buying silver bullion... knowing that I’ll be face fucking their wives mouths for the 1.30$ it cost me to buy that silver dime.

Just yesterday at Whole Foods I seamlessly entered into conversation about Corona with a roastie milf that had a ring on her finger in the water aisle... and I said this is all a cover for trump to bring us back on a gold standard. She started looking at me in amazement like she wanted me to paint her lips in cum. Yeah that based old man was a LaHood, there's a whole bunch of them in Central Illinois State in burgerstan plus Rashids, Maloofs, Khouris etc. All good upstanding folk but the LaHoods were my favorite. The old patriarch told me that:
>The Lebanese are descended from the ancient seafaring Phoenician traders, and for over 4 thousand years had been forced to evolve into superior businessmen as a matter of of their very survival, because they were sandwiched next to the sea with swindling Jews on one side and untrustworthy Muslims on the other and had to be the best of them all!

Never forgot that shit lol. Dude was awesome, and had literal tons of silver coins he and his sons collected in the 60s and 70s from their little coin-operated laundromat empire. Very smart, shrewd, moral and also generous family.

So I found out the reason for Gold going down so much recently. Apparently, Turkeys Central Bank has become insolvent, and had to sell off its Gold to acquire USD to pay of debts. This of course is the accurate timeline of events as any country that holds USD as it's reserve will eventually implode.

So my question is which country do you think is next, and how many of them have to go pop* before the dollar crashes into the fucking ground?

What the fuck did you just fucking say about metals, you crypto cuck? I will keep stacking with precision the likes of which has never been seen before on this Earth, mark my fucking words. You think you can get away with shilling that shit to me over the Internet? The storm that wipes out the pathetic little thing you call your life. You're fucking financially ruined, kid. I can be anywhere, anytime, and I can stack gold and silver in over seven hundred ways, and that's just with my bare hands. Not only am I extensively trained in the glorious art of stacking, but I have access to the entire Sprott mining stock portfolio and I will use it to its full extent to secure my financial stability in the coming bull market, you little shit. If only you could have known what unholy retribution society's rampant debt leveraging was about to bring down upon you, maybe you would have invested in fucking precious metals. Alright took me a while to get to it but I finally feel like I've researched them thoroughly. I'll engage in educated discourse with you now
>Its a top pick on the sitfolio.
Don't mind the sitfolio, the guy could've invested ages ago and got great returns already. Or he might just have a different view of Defiance
>However i dont like what i see when I research them. No major news in years other than financing type stuff.
They commenced exploration of their flagship project back in July, and since then there's been three finance-related news. The resumed exploration will focus on laying a foundation for planning a new drilling program, mostly just finding the best targets, or so it seems to me.
>They just paid of a million dollar loan and im wondering how they did it? Are they a producer?
They're not a producer, they're a pretty early stage high-grade silver explorer (though they do have an advanced-stage high-tonnage, low-grade gold-copper-silver project that seems to be on hold right now). The finance-related news explain this. They closed a C$10M private placement, meaning they issued new shares and sold them. So they diluted their shares, gained working capital and paid off all of their debts. They had had financial trouble beforehand and wouldn't have been able to pay for their short-term liabilities. Now their financials should be looking a lot better even though they had to dilute their shares. They'll also be able to fund their exploration with the rest of this C$10M.

In my opinion, Defiance seems like a solid investment. I'm not particularly excited about them because they just seem kind of unremarkable and slow at doing things. Their San Acacio property seems very promising though, and most of it is unexplored. They've only done an initial Mineral Resource Estimate with an Inferred high-grade estimate so I assume they'll want to upgrade their resources into M+I ASAP.

> Is there any Consensus on what Gold and Silver will do after the election? I want to back up the truck, but I don't know when the best time will be.

The only consensus is that it will either go up, go down, or crab. That's the consensus.

two medium term scenarios:

A) trump or biden election. neither matters long term. a biden election will be more volatile in the short term.

This scenario just means more of the same, with exponential growth. More civil unrest, political instability, economic downturn, and money printing. ultimately bullish for PM's, bearish for western civilization.

B) Contingent election ie the decision goes to the supreme court. this process can be drawn out for months. This is the most bearish scenario for almost all asset classes because it means stimulus will be delayed and their will be deflation(hoarding of cash). PM's, equities and pretty much everything will dip until stimulus resumes and more liquidity is pumped into the system
