Anyway, I have a few questions on what happened yesterday. Let me start by saying that I don't understand the tech, I have a vague understanding of what a blockchain is but not to the extent that I'd feel comfortable presenting that understanding say to a class or a group of students. I know Lit is a layer-2 so it's like an extra bit on top of Ethereum / Tomochain that actually does stuff? But really I got into Lit because of the memes, things like the Nazi / white coin stuff - it stood out on /biz/ as the only legitimate project. So I am all in on Lition and hold around 120,000 tokens, more with staking rewards I haven't checked recently.
I have decided to sell when my stake ends (if in profit), or if I am down on my investment at that point, I will sell once in profit, or if this never moons again, I will ride this thing to zero and never sell (I am stubborn like that). So this isn't a panic sell, but I have lost faith in the project for the following reasons.
>Richard wouldn't sell Lition Blockchain if it was going to make us all millionaires. If Lit went to $10, my stack would be $1.2m. How much would Richards stack have been worth? Why would you give that up for a deal that probably wasn't worth all that much?
>Tomochain token coexisting with Lition token. I don't understand this but the fact both coins have to grow together to me means the growth (rise in value) of the Lit token will be affected by Tomochain. I don't know how, but things won't be the same as when Lit was its own company.

I do think it makes sense. LIT + TOMO are the first to have a Layer 1 AND Layer 2 solution within one ecosystem. LITs deletable features in combination with TOMOs reach in the Asia Market could land them some big customers.

Neither of these make sense. I think you're not thinking of this from a developer or business perspective.
It's quite costly to take abstractions suited for any blockchain and then to restrict them to TOMO, and doing so would surely tank the price for no reason. I'm a software engineer myself, I cannot imagine my PM saying "let's take a couple of sprints to make this codebase less modular and break existing use-cases that are a money faucet." It simply doesn't add up.
TOMO has financial incentive to build further LIT<->TOMO integrations, but the scenario you're describing makes no sense from either a technical/practical or a financial perspective.
Also, since LIT is decoupled totally from TOMO. there's no necessary reason why the price of one would affect the other.

By acquiring LIT, guess what TOMO also acquired? GDPR compliance. By doing so they just opened themselves up to all kinds of deep legal shit if they just buy the project to kill it outright without compensating the original investors in some way that'll make them satisfied. And to top it off (absolute worst case scenario here), if they just integrate their tech into TOMO, LIT holders will be compensated with TOMO that just got increasingly more useful for the broader Asian market, and you absolutely know the Asians will pump those bags.

And for those thinking Richard sold just to wash his hands of it and exit scam, that's what devs that just have a shitcoin to worry about. Richard has an actual company with government oversight to maintain, as well as the well being of those he employs. Introduction

I will join a video AMA this Friday together with TomoChain’s CEO, Long Vuong, to address the main questions that came up. What I can tell you already now is that the new entity will be a lot more powerful than the old one.
Q: Will you be leaving Lition?
>RL: I won’t. The Blockchain is still the core of the energy business (all the trades run on it), and I will also remain active in the new Blockchain infrastructure company.
Q: Why an Acquisition?
>RL: More on this on the AMA, but we realized that a new, merged company is a lot more powerful than a sole Lition alone. We needed a partner beyond a partnership.
Lition has a European Sidechain solution — but no mainnet*, no international footprint, and by far not the resource of a TomoChain. But these resources are needed if you want to play in the major league.
That’s exactly what we want to do. and need to, if we really want to make a difference. And that’s what we will do now.

In order to really support the community we cannot just deliver on a working blockchain or one or two use cases. It also wouldn’t be my ambition. To support the community, but also to create a large value of the coin, we need a stronger, more powerful blockchain company. And that’s why we needed a strong partner. To *not* betray the community.
Q: Can you address the issue of incentives? Are the incentives correct to make sure that TOMO does not funnel all value to the TOMO ecosystem rather than the LIT token?
>RL: You are fully right. This is a concern we therefore took very seriously, and now have incentives that align TomoChain with LIT holders. This was a go-or-no-go negotiation point for us. Anything else would not be fair to the people that believed in Lition.
Q: Would this partnership effect the staking rewards when energy product comes out? How would Tomo chain effect the stakes of that?
>RL: The staking rewards are a result of sidechain transactions. these are the peer to peer trades of our electricity customers, so this is independent of the TomoChain deal.
Q: How much of a role will you play in the merged company? How long will you stay? Also, will your energy business be dependent on LIT infrastructure for the foreseeable future?
>RL: I’ll remain active in the Blockchain infrastructure. The Energy Use case remains fully dependent on the LIT infrastructure. We have to anyway, as there is no other GDPR-compliant, scalable public-private blockchain solution out there.

>RL: This is up to everyone’s personal judgement. What I can tell you is that from both a technical point of view and a business point of view the new company can achieve A LOT more than Lition alone.
To become a major, global player you need the global reach, a fully coupled technology, and many real business use cases. Lition alone didn’t have it. Now it has. And only as a global player the blockchain will reach real mass adoption.
That’s the motivation for the deal.
Q: All side chains remain paid in LIT and work under LIT Nodes right? Just another mainnet got added — so only + on value?
