It's the network effect, so many people already using eth, so it's hard to move to a new platform, that being said it will happen eventually, a decent example would be that myspace was once the largest social network and was thought nothing else would come close, obviously other better options came along.

I don't believe that you have done any staking or participated in any test net what so ever, but that is beside the point. Eth will have staking soon. So what? any fix to the massive problems eth is facing is 2-4 years away at the earliest. The solution that gets touted around (eth 2.0) exists in name only and there is no real evidence that would suggest it's coming at all, let alone in 2-4 years. By the time an update comes, users will have gotten tired of paying for failed transactions and gas fees in the triple digits and move onto other better options. Assuming there is a massive bull run like what's being predicted, eth isn't going to be able to handle it, it couldn't even handle the tiny defi run this summer.
