Probably not. The guy who founded it is in life with no parole I believe. Yes, you could make a lot of money but it's getting easier and easier to track. I think the best is to just rely on smaller websites. Although it's shadier, it's just not worth making a big place if it's hard to get away with it.

nono, he did hire lawyers and such but the story he tried to make the judge believe was just obnoxious. - he said he was just a fall guy and the real dpr was still out there even though he was caught red-handed logged in as dpr on his pic

>> No.23511605

Fun fact: Ross Ulbricht once personally sent me 10 BTC.

It was in 2011 when that amount was only worth $30 or so, and I had it in my silk road account and was going to buy some psychs with it. I followed the link to the site from the hidden wiki because I hadn't bookmarked it, but soon after I logged in, the funds in my account was gone. Later, I realized I had been fooled by phishing and the hidden wiki link was fraudulent, but I didn't get it the time, so I contacted silk road support. The Dread Pirate Roberts account replied, and he gave me the 10 BTC back no problem, even though it was all my fault to begin with. What a class act, he has way better business ethics than most Fortune 500 CEOs.

>> No.23511694

>>23509072
Why didn't he move to a different country? He had made enough money to live like a king anywhere, and the website could be operated from anywhere, too. And there are countries where the absolute max sentence for anything drug related is only like 10 years, like here in Norway. Seems like staying in a country with such a fetish for punishment like the US would be an enormous, unnecessary risk.

Not entrapment, an act of fraud, sure.
But it doesn't matter.
He paid bitcoin, in the agreed amounts, at the times he agreed to, for the purposes of murder.
You just can't get around that.
His sentence is rather extreme, but you would think that if he had grounds for an appeal then he would be aware of that by now.

Why do Ross faggots always try to overstate what he supposedly did for crypto? Wikileaks arguably did way more than he did to bring attention to BTC as a legitimate financial instrument (to the point that Satoshi actually got mad about it) and I don't see anyone shilling for Assange on this board.
