is working in asia really like everyone says?

i heard in asia its normal and you basically HAVE TO work 12 hours a day. they all wake up at 6 am and then go to work until 10 pm at night and they only get paid for the regular 40 hours and then after that youre just expected to be there for free and people collapse from working too hard.

and then on top of that youre expected to go out and drink every night with coworkers until the night ends and then just go to bed wake up and work again?

is this only like 10% of asian workers or legit its all over?

Yes, that's why they're so fulfilled in life. Working hard is what gives your life meaning. If you don't work at least 60 hours a week I feel sorry for you.

They spend 7 of those hours fucking off on their phones and socializing. Getting Seamonkeys to perform labor all day is impossible.

For the most part, it's a huge meme. I work as an engineer in Tokyo for a relatively small company, and my (Japanese) boss is cool and gets in at 9am and leaves between 6pm and 7pm and expects you to do the same.

For the most part it's true you fucking mongoloid, startups and more international companies tend not to follow that trend but most companies do.

My ex sold cosmetics in chengdu
She would getup at 10 am and leave at 7.
Chinese are often very lazy surprisingly at least most low level wage workers like hotel receptionist.

Some of the mom and pop convenient stores looked comfy as fuck, but they will be eating dinner in the store as a family, and still get up to sell you a beer.

anecdotal, but one major thing I noticed in Japan was salarymen sleeping in the train station. they are not homeless, they just sometimes sleep there because they work 10 hrs and are then expected to go drinking with their coworkers for several more hours and they do this 5 days a week. a bunch of them sleeping in the train station seemed to be a normal and accepted thing, in a culture where other types of vagrancy are very heavily frowned upon.

also everybody is very well dressed even on weekends when they're not working, you just get the feeling that people in general put in more effort in their daily lives and the society is better off for it
