Start buying dividend payout stocks. Try to drop 10-20 grand when you can, reinvest the dividends.

Start throwing 500 bucks into 6 month CD's every chance you get. Then repeat with the payout. Pretend that money just doesn't exist. Before you know it you will have a fat stack to start investing in other ways.

Once you have a decent stack and a steady job, buy a quad plex under a LLC you create. (So you only pay property tax on one property.)
Live in one unit, then charge the equivalent of 75% mortgage note to each tenant. Use half the money to pay down the mortgage twice as fast. Set the rest aside for maintenance and emergencies. Once you have the place more than half paid off 4-5ish years, go get a place of your own and just lease out the other spot. Now you have some passive income. Especially once it's paid off.
