and yes.
There is a reason why the U.S. gov has excluded fuel and food prices from their inflation calculations since 1980. If you actually factor those in the actual inflation rate is much worse than what we have been told, which is why they wont tell us.

>> No.23454982

Housing prices. There is a reason they were once part of the equation but are now excluded. They are subsidized as much or more than food and gas so I don't think it's accurate to say they go up in price too much to accurately reflect inflation. The richers aren't parking their money in big macs and milkshakes. I would go so far as saying housing prices as a composite is sufficient on its own to track inflation.

How is it that hotdogs at costco and ikea are just impervious to inflation? They have to be the most stable commodity on the market

>> No.23454996

>>23450870
Food prices are subsidized in heavy inflation years to keep them inflated at a lower rate relative to other asset classes so people don’t realize how bad it really is. Take a look at real estate. There should probably be a basket of observable asset prices coupled with a more transparent idea of where inflation hits, which, as per OP’s question, obviously isn’t transparent as of right now.

Where do you live? I'm in Mississippi and it's $2.79, you can't even get a Mcdouble for $2 here. Curiously the bacon Mcdouble meal is a the best deal now. $5.18, though I usually get large two triple Cheeseburger meals with diet coke for $6.37/ea. Great macros and still does not break the bank. I can't eat both fries even when I try but I am still gaining weight slowly from it with the addition of a can of boiled peanuts before bed.
My gf is a fatass and eats my 2nd fries with the double bacon quarter pounder sandwich from the in app deal for only $2. I would drink regular coke but it makes me feel sick.

>>23455044
With population comes gdp. Houses are more inflation hedges heavily backed by government so its safer than stocks. It is a good way to match inflation and diversify a bit. Houses aren't being built because wages lag far behind inflation. Rent is high because wages lag far behind inflation. The picture is a lot more grim than people want to admit.

That's probably the worst part of it all. After trying stuff in animal fat I realized what a waste most of the food I was eating had been. Sure there's nutrition, but a large influence in my meal choices come from the anticipated sensations. I'm still mad the fuckers removed super-sized meals too. And who the fuck wants a Mcdouble anyway? Drop the item entirely. The double cheeseburger should be a meal option.
Also last weex I ordered 2 Large triple cheeseburger meals and they gave me a Mcdouble and spicy mcchicken. The mcchickensare bad enough as is but they added a slice of cheese to it. That is not a standard spicy mcchicken and who the fuck would ever think of putting cheese on a chicken sandwich to begin with? Nasty shit. I sperged out using their contact form how I was pissed and felt ripped off after paying for triple cheeseburgers and got a nasty sandwich somehow made even worse. I don't eat in my car so I did not notice until after I got home. As you can see from their response they did not seem to care very much. Oh lol sry bro like maybe someone used your account and card to order that weird shit and we thought it was you so we ignored your order and brought the other one to you. I however was livid.
We need robot run mcdonalds already. Even if it's 25% more it's worth it to get the correct items and the components stacked correctly and not 50% askew for each ingredient. Somehow they are very good at stacking the pickle slices atop each other in perfect alignment though.

it wasn't a promotion, it was a recurring sale that would happen once a week i believe, and i think cheeseburgers were 39 cents. i remember eating them on these sale nights as a kid and i'm """only""" 31 years old.
