I’m very much a fundamentals guy. XRP is going to succeed because it does what it does better than anyone else and what it does is extremely useful.

I don’t follow brad and co., but would bet they’ve been going on about regs for a while, so would put the timing more down to coincidence than anything else. Also, there tends to be a high degree of coordination (and competition) between major (western) nations, so I think the movement in the US and EU is more to do with their jointly deciding its time to go (perhaps due to China, perhaps due to Facebook).

I think the main problem with baba, is that he gives a false sense of certainty. I’ve followed XRP for years, but only bought in on September 4th this year, because that’s when I started seeing real talk of regs (and regs are the key). But I acknowledge it’s just talk - until they are fully in place, we’re still in the status quo.

I’m bullish because it appears to me that the regs seem to be being pushed through faster than usual, so it seems like nations are taking the seriously. Again, I suspect a lot of this is driven by the eu’s fear of libra.

I’d note that regs don’t actually need to be fully in place for XRP to be endorsed - if they are sufficiently advanced, you may see that endorsement with a view that final regs should allow for the BIS’ recommendations to function.

It works that way in the derivatives/banking world - nations say they want regs and will put them in place, the BIS (or similar) makes recommendations, then final regs are put in place. This ensures major nations are in line and prevents regulatory arbitrage.
