That's the current 52 week price. AMD didn't really start rocketing until 2016 but had you held it from January 2016 until January this year, you would have had over 470% gains.

A couple reasons I can think.
#1) They're the best chipset for mining rigs.
#2) They signed an agreement with apple to supply processors for the new MacBook line
