bros what the fuck polkadot is integrating their own oracles with no need for external oracle providers such as LINK.
https://cointelegraph.com/news/polkadot-s-substrate-2-0-integrates-oracles-at-a-protocol-level

now what happens if other projects follow, would LINK have an actual use case then? not trying to fud just want to discuss

From the link you provided..
"This system would allow Polkadot developers to build complex systems like price feed providers entirely on-chain, removing some of the elements of trust involved. The issue of finding reliable data sources — the core of the “oracle problem” — would still remain, but developers would have maximum flexibility in the design of their DApps and blockchains."
Bye bye, this thread.

I know. I confess I knew that when I did it. Sometimes we just do this stuff to pass the time.

Literally nothing other than LINK's momentum and positive reputation as reliable data provider. LINK will continue to be the de facto standard for oracles, at least until the actual data sources realize LINK is monetizing their data. Then we might see some token-not-needed competition.
