They literally can when those tokens if collected to a point of 1%+ of total supply gives the holder the right to submit proposals. Having enough of these gives you defacto ownership of uniswap.

These free gibs have a lot of attention from people/institutions with very very deep pockets, who have a vested interest in maintaining as high a percent of these as possible

Are you trolling or just retarded?

Literally nothing in the world has intrinsic value (no, not even gold goldfags), the value depends on how much people want something.
So the value of UNI when they gave it out was 0, but demand for the token pushed it to higher prices. And so the value didn't come out of nowhere, it came from the wallets of buyers.
This is Economics 101

This brainlet is the absolute state of biz. Absolut zero knowledge about business, only following libtards mortalist principles. Let me explain it to you:

1. Of course you can give everyone money if you have it and they fucking have it since they are a huge ass exchange.
2. They will probably make more money by doing this action than not since they will grow in popularity now.

Profit = smart business move, even it violates your libtard moral.

3, Voting rights on uniswap has intrinsic value for whales and other exchanges, since binance and the competitors would probably millions of dollars to fuck up uniswap for getting their volume. Trader whales probably want to vote for lower fees, poolers want higher fees and so on. With this token people get the power to choose how high fees and shit are and that will influcence a lot.

Thats why this token still has huge value eventhough lots of poor fags sold it instantly. Cause people are ready to pay a lot of money for power.

this is retarded. uniswap didn't give anyone money. they gave everyone tokens with the market is putting a value on. buyers are giving the sellers money, not uniswap. the buyers in this case seem to be other centralized exchanges. also....uniswap doesn't generate revenue so I'm not sure where you think all this money they have is coming from. it's a simple dex. protocol fees go to liquidity providers....not the exchange.....retard.

Look at the price of the listing of uniswap token. It was 1.11$ with 170 million tokens. So the devs put quite some ETH in it obviously.

The devs obviously had to put in a lot of money with that like how fucking retarded you must be to even think that the uniswap devs didnt make a lot of money by using their own exchange due to trading/pooling and so on? Why would even assume that I mean fees or whatever here, jeez you are so narrowminded.
