Only hours ago, Trump made his first open proclamation on Pebble Mine.

He says that there will be "no politics" involved in the approval process. This is a dog-whistle to his followers. It means: "the lying leftist pseudo-environmentalists who are blocking this project will be defeated." We already knew that the mine could be both highly environmentally friendly and economical. Trump was the only obstacle to this mine being built; that obstacle is now removed.

Many of us will be buying NAK at the open, no matter what the price. I will add $20,000 to my position. Why? The market cap of NAK, even at the pre-pumped price (1.30 USD), is only 700 million. The market cap of Newmont, which, is the largest miner on earth, and whose mines only have as much gold and silver in them as Pebble mine does alone, is 70 billion.

What's 70 billion divided by 700 million? There's your potential gain.

Comfy, stock prices basically never changes, tendie money erry month, and exponential growth if you just keep plugging away at it. The thing is, every single Country is printing more lately, you never know what will be the consequences of that in 5 years. I used to lurk /pmg/ every day, but then it was overrun by people who seriously believe that the financial system will be allowed to collapse. It's as simple as that, the dollar will not collapse because "they" will not allow it, end of story. Also prices of gold and silver are imaginary, they are 100% manipulated and have nothing to do with reality, they only make the miners lose, everyone else gains cheap precious metals. But what's the point of investing in gold if the price of gold is FULLY decided by the Bank of London every morning, and I don't mean dumping the price a bit, if they want it to crab around $2000 for 50 years, it will, no matter what happens with the economy of fiat currencies. It's a game where you can only lose.

A company buying things doesn't mean it was a good purchase. They spent $1.1B on acquiring AK and that surely comes with either A) significant debt, or B) significantly reduced cash flow. The purchase was completed at the height of a stock market crash also. You still haven't posted the balance sheet because you know it shows why the company dumps so hard after earnings. You know the majority of the industry is overseas but point to NUE as an outlier as if that means CLF also is.

I would tell you to take profits, but based on the stock's performance and how hard you're shilling, you probably don't have any. That's fine, I won't try to help you any longer anon.

that's what I don't get from you. You're shilling CLF because it's a value pick when GME is actually much more undervalued. CLF is a manufacturer so their growth and margins are much more limited since obviously it takes time to expand capacity and they're not able to respond to fluctuating demand. GME's e-commerce is growing rapidly thanks to Amazon fucking up, and that's without Cohen potentially setting up large-scale fulfillment centers with much better magins.

Frankly, value picking without considering the potential future growth is retarded. I wouldn't have touched GME either if the Cohen factor was absent, because it doesn't matter how good their balance sheet is if the management will squander it all away again. The hype and short burn wouldn't be this strong without Cohen, not to mention he's basically taken out 10% of the shares out the float.

Most of the delusion is desperation I've found. Imagine thinking the central Governments will let a currency "fail". Inflation to an extent is good for assets unless you're a wage slave. Kinda basic ecnomics.

I mean this is inherently the battle the Fed has been losing since 2009 in earnest: money velocity. QE is an unending, self-feeding cycle that just makes the very problems worse it is trying to solve.
I am pretty sure the Fed's long term plan is Fedcoin. Where it will lend money out directly and digitally but with perhaps constraints on it like "disappears if not used in a transaction within X amount of time". Like timed stimulus so people, banks, etc. can't just save it (or dump it in equities like what has been happening to the stock market since 2009 and repeated itself with GUSTO in 2020)

but I'm still hoping for a short squeeze, if that does happen then $50 is really not unreasonable. Obviously it doesn't mean a short squeeze is inevitable even with the ridiculous short %, but it is also true that the right SEC filing afterhours or whatever Cohen might do has a small chance of triggering a short squeeze.

If another big whale takes 10% of the float for example, then I'm sure that might cause some panic covering and trigger a cascade. With the volume the last few days, who knows who's in GME right now.

I like to compare it to TLRY as an example since I think it's the closest to what GME might be (massive hype rally), and it won't be like Kodak where it was basically a black swan even for short sellers.

eh either way I'm happy that I escaped the bloodbath in tech.

The problem with uranium is that its cycles are slow as hell and its correlated with the market. The current thesis for uranium has nothing to do with new reactors but that current production can only supply 1/3 of what is currently needed to maintain currently online reactors.
There is one hell of a supercycle coming to uranium but it might be the case where things move so slowly that you can just buy the big firms with solid prospects and management instead of eating the ETF management fees.

Then diversified managed funds are fine to invest in. There are multi-asset diversified etf's you can buy, Vanguard the biggest manager in that space. Not sure what country you're in (I'm not American) but if you're looking at active fund managers rather than index tracking funds you'll probably have to look at actual managed funds rather than etf's and may have to look around in your market for platforms that let you buy managed funds (or you can do it directly with the fund manager but that's a bit of a pain in my opinion)

Over the long term the Index does beat most active managers, at least historically - but do understand that that works in both directions. The index tends to dip more than active managers. But if you're holding for decades I'm sure you're okay with some swings and roundabouts.

It's a good idea to start putting money away in investments when you're young - compounding returns over the long term does make a huge difference. But be aware that stock forums are not really a good place to discuss boomer tier ideas like "going long" and "value investing" - all these places are good for is short term speculative investing on inflated companies (basically gambling with extra steps)

CLF shill keeps talking about how undervalued his pick is, but he picked the worst time to try and shill his value trap when a lot of people here have already read into GME's financials and balance sheet. It's a reasonable speculation to assume that GME will stop its covid/end-of-cycle cashburn and declining revenues with the double console release. Console sales also lead to higher sales everywhere else, including digital shit through Gamestop. They're doing pretty fine for a $500 million market cap company

You collected the premium the day you sold the option. That was the taxable event. When it gets exercised, you're just buying the shares at whatever your strike price was. If you then sell the shares, that would be a second taxable event.

I don't. I just understand how volatility works and with big upswings comes big downtrends. I understand signal vs noise and I understand the macro factors at play right now. I'm genuinely not worried. Like I said, high volatility is for iron hands only.

absolutely terrible for employee morale and long-term health of the company but Gamestop stayed opened for as long as they can during lockdown just so they could sell Animal Crossing and Doom. Probably why Q1 was unusually better than Q2 kek

still really terrible management and it's the reason I wouldn't have touch GME if Cohen wasn't a factor.

I originally just wanted to boomer-invest in VOO, but foolishly started looking at more specific ETFs and visited /smg/, which is how I ended up putting around 10% of my money in each of TQQQ and FNGU.
I still have most of my money in VOO, but that doesn't look too hot these days either.
Especially annoying since I was looking at closing my positions and invest long-term in a variety of stocks. Looks like I'll have to wait with that though and ride out the volatility.

Fair enough.

I come from a 'fortune favors the bold' point a view not so much the research, and all reading stuff.

I don't give a shit about a grand so it works for me. If I was investing 10k, well, I may reconsider. Most of my hard assets are in PMs. I don't consider stocks real money until I cash out.
