The reason why it caught my eye had to do with plans to expand into the cannabis sector. They had land and we're building roads to get to the minerals and a grow op and working products infused with cannabis. I thought this is interesting, and it was pumping 10-20% every day. Boomers were shilling it nonstop on some boomer penny site. Supposedly it was the South American Canopy Growth (with mining!). Then one day I checked my portfolio and it was...gone. the ticket vanished and all my monies along with it.

Really tempted to sell Frontier and buy Sumo.

Sumo Group (creators of LBP) are yet to really break out like other video game developers in the UK have and they are posting results on the 30th.

The exchange has some control on that. They can temporarily decline to open a stock for trading if the spread is ridiculously imbalanced. I saw this once on a IPO, which was imbalanced to the buy side at open. Exchange put a halt on it until the ledger filled out to their satisfaction, then they opened it. That's a bit of a placebo though. The race for the door at open on a suddenly distasteful stock can be extreme.

All commodities have explorers, developers, royalty companies (financers), and producers. The first two and most early producers until they ramp up production to be in the green are "juniors". Once they are proven with solid balance sheets and prospects they become "seniors". Commodity cycles are predictable with cyclical bear and bull cycles with super cycles for especially volatile bear/bull transitions. You generally win with just timing/patience and picking good companies with good or proven management.
In the start of a bull market, the money will generally flood first to royalty companies because of their high margins and "diversified" risk (since they fund many projects) and seniors. Then once those start seeming expensive given the market, interest begins to shift to juniors. Then eventually to explorer companies. GOLD, NEM, and PAAS were the first wave. There is increasingly interest now into companies that are near production within the next year i.e. they were planned and viable when gold was ~1300/oz and silver was ~$15/oz.

From trading perspective it depends on the duration of the move in the underlying spot price. A week or less, you're in better shape trading futures contracts or etf derivative. Longer than that and miners will gain serious momentum, way outperform the underlying. This will remain true unless underlying goes briefly parabolic, starts notching double digit gains per day. If trading miners i recommend an etf holding a basket of most of them instead of choosing individual companies. Mining is a tough business with some unique risks. Any one of them can get hit with some disaster and shed double digit percent in a day no matter what the spot price on the metal is.

Combination of a couple things, in my opinion.
First is that fundamental analysis of the broader macro and monetary policies in play are signaling a bull market.
Second is that TSLA behaves like a indicator for QQQ (am using QQQ as the tech sector). If TSLA is mooning or dump the tech industry will follow and TSLA usually leads in whatever direction, more so than leveraged ETFs which is very interesting
Third, is what is going on particularly with TSLA. So obviously they just had a massive sell off which once the dust settled a lot of people took as a buying opportunity.
NKLA just got exposed as a fraud so I am assuming the EV people are jumping ship.
Battery day is also approaching and there is expected to be some good / big news.
Personally I am very bullish on TSLA for the reasons I just mentioned.
Unless JPow speaks today and says something very gloom for investors I can't see why TSLA won't continue to moon.

They're currently trading at like a price-to-sales ratio of 0.1, something like bestbuy trades around 0.6, and something like CHWY is at 4.
