Every crypto bubble has a central theme. The last one was the ICO bubble which told anyone interested that rich people make money by getting on the ground floor of IPOs and flipping shares to the stock market at large. This round is "hey bros, it's not fair that the public can't create derivatives and play money printer go burrrrrrr and circle jerk printed money from ponzi to ponzi to inflate them". Same effect as the ICOs, except there is no meta narrative to entice the public into buying in. Grayscale was supposed to do this by capturing part of the FED subsidy to the stock market. It's captured enough to buy all mined BTC for the last half year but not enough to support the kind of cashing out that a crypto-to-crypto circle jerk entails. C2C trading creates massive tax obligations for any entity that wants to cash out money to keep the lights on, and crypto money printers do not equal fiat. They're half of the equation in that they help support valuations and let whales to last in last out with smaller portions of their stacks, but you still need the retarded amount of fiat from the stock market trusts. If you saw their commercials and interviews, you'd understand the Oh Shit we're experiencing right now and the meta trend for December/January.

I am new to 4chan but not trading. All I have been doing for the past few months is day trading (specifically in commodities) and am trying to find a decent methodology for longer holding periods because I feel I have made enough to start swing trading.

I understand the difference between trading and investing, but truthfully I didn't realize crypto had fundamentals, so I never thought of calling it investing. I thought you guys only traded based on price. My mistake.

I still cringe at the thought of sinking money into something because of "fundamentals" I can't remember how many times I bought something because the long term outlook seemed favorable only for price to do nothing for months on end.

To be fair the crypto market often receives a lot of hype and that pushes price up sometimes in parabolic moves. I don't know any fundamentals that can push a market to parabolic moves.

Long term oil estimates seem bullish yet you wont see oil go parabolic. some markets react better to "fundamentals" I suppose
