Let’s say I have $10k in my account, and I feel comfortable risking $1k of that.
If I understand things correctly, to take advantage of my capital, I could invest all $10k if I put in a stop loss at $1k below my cost basis, so I would only be risking my $1k. However, the drawback here is that a stop loss might well not fill at the trigger price but continue filling way below.
So I was wondering: would using only my $1k but with 10x leverage (borrowed from the broker) amount to essentially the same thing, with the difference that when I get liquidated it’s like I got my whole stop loss filled at the trigger price, since I only lose my $1k (right?) - i.e. a better form of stop loss (that also lets me use my other $9k for other things)?

You deposit $1,000.

TSLA goes down by 20% at open.
Your TSLA holding is worth $8,000.

If that's the policy of your broker, then I'd expect that they would write off the -$1,000.
However, they'd probably have more conservative margin call ratios and lower borrowing limits to factor that in.
So I doubt they'd be offering you 10x leverage, it sounds too high risk from their perspective.
But it all comes down to the policies of your broker and what they're willing to lend I guess.

A few of my theories:

China spread these videos, or some other government intelligence agency did, to spread fear. They could have been faked. That is if you're talking about the people collapsing in the streets, and hospitals with people convulsing and shit.

Secondly, maybe some of the videos were real (people dropping in the streets). China has terrible air quality in a lot of those cities. Very bad pollution. Much MUCH worse than most US cities. That declines the populations overall lung health over time. Get a bad flu type virus = people falling over dead because their blood oxygen drops due to poor lung health + virus pneumonia fucking the lung.

Italy: Could be the same deal. Lots of boomers with poor lung health, from smoking and shit. Obesity. Just poor health overall.

New York, again, same deal. Very unhealthy population. Obesity.

Obesity is a huge factor in it.

Sweden did not lock down and they're fine. Very healthy population over there. Low obesity rates.

Yeah, turns out it's only 0.26%.

The lockdowns did nothing. Herd immunity was always the way to go.

We never locked down for a severe flu season before, ever. Nor should we. People die. And there's nothing anyone can do to stop every death. Most of the deaths were people who were in very poor health + old, would have died within a year or two anyway.

But dumb fucks like you who run things figured it would be a good idea to tank the world economies to save a few boomers.

The virus mutates over time, most viruses tend to get more harmless over time, because they don´t want to kill the host and spread even more in the population.

As far as I remember, the problem was not the virus itself back in March, but the overreaction of the immune system from many people. The cells which are supposed to kill the infected cells, also killed many healthy cells and the lungs collapsed, but I am not sure about that.

Also everywhere you have to wear masks and this limits the amount of virus you get infected with. Your body has more time to prepare and you don´t get as sick as you would have been in the early days.

Btw, he never intended to put a non stop unbroken border wall, you realize that right? Only braindead lefties and retarded boomers thought that. He has always talked about not needing it for the entire stretch of the border, due to natural barriers.

Direct quote from Trump: "And I wanted to show you some of the details of the wall. You can see — you can see a pretty good view. This is going to be close to 500 miles by the time we finish. Those are the areas that are most important.
After we’re completed 5- — that should be done pretty close to next year. Over — it’ll be over 400 miles. And we think we can get it close to 500 miles by the end of next year, depending on certain terrain conditions. But we’re doing all of the most important areas. We have a lot of natural barriers, like mountains and streams and rivers and — some pretty vicious and violent rivers, actually. But it’s — it’s an amazing project."

>hates trump

what did he mean by this.

Anyway, yes Trump IS the best President of all time. Most of his "lies" are merely his opinions, or over exaggerations. I'll be sipping some nice whisky in November when your side loses the election, you realize you wasted a year of your life wearing a cuck muzzle, and you lose everything in the stock market making bad picks because you're clearly a retarded fuck.

I'm not really worried since I entered GME under $6 (if we ignore my retard greed for averaging up) and -15% is nothing for speculation gambles like this. I was honestly expecting -30% as my worst case scenario if Q2 was really fucking shitty.

I did my DD and I understand the gamble. $5 is the literal bottom on GME when it's already undervalued as fuck for the cash/asset value per share. It's a $400 million market company that had almost $1 billion revenue in the absolutely trainwreck Q2. It's still a retailer with massive presence that should be booming during the corona gaming boon but it's massively held back by absolutely self-destructive board members (e.g. they only sold their fucking corporate jet this year because shareholders since GME was $20+ got so fed up by this point). I'm not going to miss out on another massive rally that's fueled by short sellers again. Look at OVV for example, quadrupled because people thought it might finally go bankrupt but it didn't and some short sellers got fucked. Retards who shorted the bottom get fucked and raise the price up which fuck over other retards who shorted. What do you think's going to happen to GME when short sellers have been betting for it to go $0 and now the literal bottom is above whatever price they shorted GME at ($3? maybe $4) earlier this year?

It was only one share to test the waters, losing ten bucks isn't that bad and I'll assume it will rally this week, if not i'll just sell.

hey im bullish on GME but it's probably going to dip massively after the first hour. What news are out there anyways? Still waiting for Cohen to do something, he hasn't been stockpiling more shares so he's obviously not taking the route to go beyond >10% shares.

This also. Someone last night said they picked up a bunch a couple weeks ago from Cramer shilling it as a option for tok tikky. Well see how it all plays out

>high risk
Kek, that's the opposite you need in a situation like that. You need good (>1:3) r/r trades on a consistent basis and prohibit any loss above 1%, yolo when -30% 9/10 of the times is a recipe for -70%

Jefferies upgrade. Buy pt 8. It's nothing but if that can already pump it 8% imagine what actual news does.

but the problem with GME is that their r/e leases/properties aint worth shit, so a raid or a full scale takeover is quite a farfetched idea

wtf Telsey also bumped up price target to $10.
i think institutions want to cash in on retard short sellers now, fundamentals don't matter

Nope, you build capital and then start to gamble with a part of it. You roll in to risk when you can afford to take the hit.

So then I guess I just don't see the benefit of high risk, period. I guess that's risk tolerance. But I'm not in the hole, so I'm doing something right.

SE is pending a Singapore digital banking license, is probably best suited of the 7 companies applying for one, will make a fuckton off of it, and some of the other companies aren't from Singapore, so it's likely they get it. Announcement is set to be some time soon.

idk, euros live in apartments (not a lot of space), run a lot, are healthy, go to gyms (europe has a gym on every corner) and in general do not like that interactive shit, especially if a vanilla stat bike costs 5x less. Could sell a lot in UK tho. The problem is tho, that the stock is already valued high, which gives us a small margin of safety and limited upside. If buy, then start with small size.
