Keep in mind that volatility/volume should be up immensely in the back half of next week, that many shorts expected to be a huge loss no longer look like they'll turn out that way, and probably a higher number of options than usual will be expiring worthless, and any implications this may have.

"Long term" means more than a year because of how capital gains taxing works. If you are holding for a year or longer you shouldn't be trying to pull out or push back in from day to day price movements. Instead it should be major catalysts like "CEO is going to jail" or the like. Most tickers eventually go to zero, those that don't are probably familiar to you.
