I don't know anything about TGTX but why did you by it and what made you anticipate its value rising? Do you expect that trend to continue? If you didn't own any, would you buy right now?

As for tomorrow, I would not want to hold over the weekend whatsoever. I expect a larger than usual volume of put trades and hedge purchases tomorrow as well, and since retail has driven a huge increase in call:put ratio and options gamma, their shift to puts may have a large effect on the market. I am expecting tomorrow to be a great day to sell at open, buy at close and would not actively trade anything else unless daytrades are available and you're good at reading charts/no other obligations. Keep in mind that volatility/volume should be up immensely in the back half of next week, that many shorts expected to be a huge loss no longer look like they'll turn out that way, and probably a higher number of options than usual will be expiring worthless, and any implications this may have.

Say I bought a $5 call option on a stock currently selling at $50, with a strike price of $60.
If the share price then rises to $70 within the expiration date.

Will I have spent $5 on the right to purchase the $70 share for $50, making $15 of profit? (With the upside being that I didn't have to buy and hold for the time period in case the stock dumped)
Or will I have effectively bought the now $70 share for $5, for a 1300% profit?

Well frens, here's the macroscale situation:

> US GDP is down some 30%+, worst contraction on record
> US unemployment is probably around 20% after adjusting for BLS nerfing
> Corporate layoffs are increasing, not decreasing. Every. Week.
> Stimulus II is not coming anytime soon. At all. Not until after election, outcome tbd and will not be known in Nov
> Election will be contested. Absolutely. This will result in more social unrest, cities burning, fire & brimstone headlines from media, etc
> Big corps. will freeze spend & hiring during societal upheaval and legislative uncertainty
> China is making more moves in Taiwan by the day
> US/RU airspace events are happening more frequently
> The entire west coast is about to burn down, 3 weeks ago nobody cared about the fires
> US market aggregate price-to-earnings ratios compared to forward earnings per share are highly divergent
> The fed is at 0% and can only go negative
> Banks are not lending to SMB, shrinking lines of credit defensively to lower class

That's the picture. Options day traders will have good days ahead on the volatility, but on the macro-scale, the uptrend cannot continue.

QE is dead. Repos are dead. Fed is stripping its balance sheet. They're not going to push more liquidity into the system than they already have, they're already traipsing around in fatal territory with the velocity in the shitter. The velocity will remain in the shitter until stimulus hits, and it'll be little more than a blip when and if it does. People are impressed with a notion of impending doom, and legitimately so.

"Long term" means more than a year because of how capital gains taxing works. If you are holding for a year or longer you shouldn't be trying to pull out or push back in from day to day price movements. Instead it should be major catalysts like "CEO is going to jail" or the like. Most tickers eventually go to zero, those that don't are probably familiar to you. As long as the fundamentals are there - cash reserves, cash flow, growth, etc. - the movements in a particular day or month or even year won't matter in the long run. The "zoom out" paradigm.

nothing beats buying and holding.
good long term holds are likely to crab, a lot and you will probably want to swing them. however, if you miss one of the 2-3 best days of gains for that stock in a year you will underperform like mad. the problem is you can't really predict these movements so you are better off holding so you are not in cash when your pick surges 5% for no reason.

Go read Wolf Street, I'm not going to spoonfeed you.

Imagine the fucking horror they had when there was actually a V-shaped recovery. Risk-on by every major trading entity because they were frontrunning bonds and equities but in a very thin slice of the market which ultimately only contributes 10% to GDP. Meanwhile retailers are busting nuts on linegoup. JPow doesn't want to bail out everyfuckingbody in the US, but that's where we're headed if we keep moving in the QE direction. Now we're hitting resistance in recovery trends, and as they say "never let a disaster go to waste" so it's presumably going to continue in a downward spiral as companies favorably trim, increasing margins and hedging against lost cashflows as demand goes down. He needs velocity, but the money won't move - you can pull a string, but you can't push it.

He should've just let it slip and let the markets dig through their ruins, only providing liquidity assistance to consumers.

yes anon. because leveraged etfs are based on percentages, with any hint of volatility they will decay and eat into your profits to the point where, even if you get lucky and youre even in the green, your profit will often be comparable to a normal 1x etf for triple the risk. and that risk is substantial given the segment that etf tracks only has to drop 33% and you’re literally at 0. it may seem corny but leveraged etfs ARE only for short term. it is not worth it long term because eventually a crash WILL come and you will lose big time
