In simple terms it is an index fund. The larger the pool, the more of an effect the pooled assets have on the price of STA. Rewards for pooling are good so it is incentive to pool some of your gains as the price rises. Since STA is deflationary, and the balance pool trades it constantly to maintain balance, the supply is constantly being burned which makes it easier to rise in price.
