We're in a Bitcoin Bull trap right now. This shit show aint over guys. Its a repeat of what happened in January.

Personally I consider this a bad strategy, If you expect it to drop you should sell now and buy more at a lower price. However I do believe Bitcoin will comfortably pass $3000 within the next few months so its ok if you're patient I guess.

If you look at Bitcoins growth over the last couple of years you can see it has a pretty solid trend line. So many fucking retards in this thread. This isn't 2014 you morons. BTC has more support than ever, the Chinese and the Asians are going ballistic over it. This is a correction due to BTC being enthusiastically overbought. Period. End of story.

...But the market is not going to crash like it did in 2014. Sorry. It's a different ballgame now. And we already have proof of this with the resistance BTC met today.

This is not going to last for years either. This correction is going to last a few weeks, AT MOST. Look at the atmosphere of the global markets, the fear around the dollar, the fear of debt...the fact that the Asians love BTC, and the fact that BTC is a safe haven asset.

By the end of summer this is gonna be a footnote and BTC is gonna be $3,000+. Anyone who thinks differently is the real retard and/or a fudder who sold their BTC already on the cheap.

Expect a GIANT bull run on bitcoin on May 30 - 31.

In addition to when banking resuming activity on the 30th, Japanese internet conglomerate, GMO is launching their zero fee trading platform the very next day. They're no mtgox, they're an very reputable company and already own the world’s largest FX brokerage, GMO Click Securities. This will attract many new investors because bitcoin is "legalized" in Japan and many people will want to take advantage of the zero fee trading.

Just FYI, this guy actually does know what he's talking about.

Throughout this entire week there was a huge artificial buy wall at 1900. Ofc, the purpose of the wall was so that anyone who wanted to buy bitcoin had to buy it above 1900, hence allowing the whale to steadily sell off his stash.

On this very board, there was a great thread about the meta behind this, as people still didn't understand the purpose of such a buy wall. The idea, ofc, is that the price would never actually fall to 1900 and trigger a big buy until the whale was ready.

Well, it happened. The buy wall was removed, and free fall started a few days later.

Really makes you think.

Consider putting some of your bitcoin into USDT for now to hedge.

The biggest downfall I see for Bitcoin & altcoins is the exchanges in the USA all tend to suck. Having to wait days/weeks for USD to be transferred in & out is ridiculous. Having to go through a verification process that takes longer than getting a bank account is also absurd. All these "much charts" doomsayers sound exactly like they did five-six months ago when bitcoin was around 1000 dollars.
And like they did when bitcoin hit 10 cents years ago.

Don't listen to them, they're bitter because they lost a ton of money trying to short bitcoin like retards.

Buy bitcoin at ANY price and just walk away from the fucking computer for a few years. The longer the better.

Just make sure you can afford to lose the money you put in, just to keep you from getting nervous and turning into another shorting retard.
Because remember: whatever price you buy at, bitcoin WILL drop below that.
Maybe a lot, maybe many times.

>> No.2216545

the problem with alts are theyre in an insane bubble right now, many times larger than bitcoin is. all it takes is for bitcoin to get any kind of good news and that will probably cause it to burst.

most people forget than this bitcoin rise has been on the back of nothing but bad news for 2 years, and yet the price has gone up 5-6x. most new money is jumping into alts because who wants to buy a whole bitcoin for over $2000?

most alt rises are thanks to poloniex, there isnt any kind of an alt market out of that exchange, and poloniex doesn't allow you to trade against anything but other alts or bitcoin (yes, tether is an altcoin, even if it's supposed to be pegged to the dollar).

a crash to $1000 or lower is nothing compared to what's going to happen to the alt market when this hysteria wears off.

people only care about exploiting alts for monetary gain, there's yet to be anything that provides value outside of that, especially in a decentralized way which after all is the entire point of these things existing.

theyre just investment vehicles, and they should be treated as such until something comes along that actually has the potential to disrupt anything on a deeper level than "store of value". so far there's absolutely nothing, just a lot of hype and future bagholders.

>the next internet, the next Amazon, the next eBay, the next Cloud storage, the next Youtube, the next Netflix, the next Hollywood, the next TD Ameritrade, and much, much more
All those things do fundamentally different things, while cryptocurrencies all do essentially the same thing with only minor differences in how the goal is achieved.

And anything alts do better, bitcoin can be made to do.

If crypto is to survive in the long run, there will inevitably be only one left.

A single (digital) world coin doesn't make sense at all for various reasons some of the more obvious ones being control and safety reasoning. That will never happen. BTC might even become an alt.

>> No.2216988

>>2216903
bitcoin can never become an alt by definition, but if it forks contentiously like ethereum did, one of the forks could be branded an alt.

right now all alts are competing to have value, not to provide it. in that world, you only need one, and having multiple coins that do nothing but have real-world value just makes it more inconvenient to use them for that purpose.

if the chinks get their way and manage to strangle bitcoin to 5-10 transaction per second limit then i fully expect some other coin to take over for actual value transactions. this is the only real danger i can see in the near future for bitcoin. i give sidechains and esoteric usages for it about the same weight as i do the utility of altcoins for anything but storing value: zero.
