Zoom is adding capabilities to tell if there's a person in front of the cam. This is very easy tech, but they seem to have the balls to do it.
This means that when everyone is working from home, their bosses will now have a tool to ensure continued misery for their minions.
This tech could be added in 5 minutes to MS Teams, Facetime, Skype, or any other webcam.exe application, but doing so would seem to evil, so established players can't do it. But Zoom can. They might turn into the "infrastructure of choice" for allowing remote work.
