Marines I have been getting 6% on my Linkies for nearly a year, but the Jews at crypto.com have just put the amount down to 3%. Where can I get closer to 6% which is not some back ally dealership? Any suggestions

Yeah I'm mad about this too. I'm checking out yvaults now. Sounds like will be even more secure soon. I was earning 85 link a week and was gonna upgrade to the 100000 cro card but not anymore

you guys are playing dangerous games

Banks get bailed out by daddy gov when they fuck up and there's a threat of a run. Crypto "banks" will not get bailed out.

yvault borrows stablecoins against your link to yield farm with. keep that in mind, if link crashes you actually lose it. also you pay for withdrawals and there is an insurance buffer fee on deposit that supposedly gets paid back in 24-48 hours according to andre. but i haven't seen it return yet and i've been waiting for more than that.

>if link crashes you actually lose it.
this isnt actually true right. If it crashes then a portion of your deposits are locked up permanently until a yield farming strategy can outperform the debt you owe, afaik. So if link climbs back up your funds get unlocked

Tbh it’s getting to the point where risk to rewards are unbalanced, maybe it’s time to to cold store them

That's just an user-friendly way of putting it. YFI itself actually loses the Link because it is liquidated at the Aave layer. It then has to re-earn enough money to buy its debt to you back fully. If anything, Link going back up only aggravates the situation here. A flash crash is the worst possible scenario.

right makes sense, but that only happens if there is more than a 75% flash crash right?

Depends on the rebalancing strategy, health score on Aave, and the loan to value maximum of the asset. If they can’t rebalance the loans because the blockchain is clogged and fees cost $50 then it doesn’t get done in time and then they get liquidated instead of rebalanced. Whenever that happens they can shill the yVaults to get more insurance from the freshly deposited links so that they can repay their debts and return to positive apy. At the end of the day if they get liquidated they can lock your link in the contract and there’s nothing you can do about it. All of this is included in the implicit disclaimer in crypto, not your keys, not your crypto. You give it away to the control of another entity. It’s a smart contract with logic that can trap your link tokens inside of it. That means however much link you put into it is exactly how much you are willing to throw away directly into the trash potentially. They told you it was a risk before you did it, so you get all the blame, and you get to feel like a fucking moron for the rest of your life for it. It’s a worse fate than being a swinglinker

Locking your link tokens doesn’t mean that the tokens are sitting in the contract, just inaccessible to you. It means they’re fucking gone, and what’s locked is your right to withdraw the link balanced you’re entitled to, but if there’s no link, then unlocking it wouldn’t mean jack shit anyhow
