i dont know, i bought at $450 and sold at $750 and regret selling but on the other hand im happy i made profit and didnt lose. so if you have a high profit level right now maybe its worth not risking losing it all and sell to keep it. you can alwasy rebuy if it dumps

that or i hear some news that makes me think that the company is shit all of a sudden and no one wants to buy it anymore. it's something im still thinking about, doing more of a swing trade vs. long term holding.

i just know that this shit is gonna print because of the split. but the companies are still good so it might be worth it to just hold them and not do shit with them for at least a year. i remember there was one anon that talked about how he had some AAPL shares from his dad or grandfather or something and never sold them so they just kept growing in value and splitting and were now worth a bunch. i don't see TSLA or AAPL going down significantly any time soon, i'd need some reason to believe they would do that.

hell i mean look at AMD. i sold that shit for a small profit during covid. if i had literally just held it would be worth double now. that's what im debating in regards to selling vs. holding.

Brah, why cook the steaks before the potatoes? Stakes take 11-18 minutes depending on thickness/temp. Also, medium rare or GTFO.

Baked potatoes at 425 in the over, glazed with oil and sea salt for 45 minutes is the only way to go.

Whats Tesla doing right now thats justifiying its price?
Anything changed on the very company besides of 2 or 3 gigafactories.
Do you yourself own a Tesla?
Anyone in your near family ?

Unemployment is still at high numbers. People rather safe for food right now after they experienced this messed up situation.
No one will lease or buy Tesla , only rich folks and rich folks soon get bored if you dont serve them a new plate every now and then.

Nationwide a full electric car community would kill the electric grid and cause a meltdown.
Do you even know how much those Teslies charge with?
Something around 250Kw/h which has to be delivered 24/7 from the energy firm because you want to charge your car whenever asap right?

250.000W(calculated back to Watt) times 111 million (current cars in the USA that will be "replaced") = 27.750.000.000kw = 27.8 Billion KwH

The entire USA produced around 4.2 Billion KwH in entire 2019 , goodluck with grid meltdown Efags

at some point you just have to accept the hype is real and make a profit off of it. the better question is what would cause the hype to stop being real? why would people want to not keep buying TSLA stock? that's the REAL question. and it has little to do with the now. i think the hype mostly has to do with what people expect in the future. also elon has a cult following, if he died i'd probably exit immediately to be fair.

honestly i might just take my profits a couple of weeks after the split when it pumps significantly and put it into AAPL though. i just know this forward split is free money though so im taking advantage of it, AAPL i might hold for years though.

Tesla is in a period of rapid growth where every penny of capital is being plowed back into infrastructure development and R+D. They have open sourced their patents in the comfortable knowledge that even if the other manufacturers leap on them and duplicate their technology, Tesla will still be several years ahead in terms of design, and even more in terms of infrastructure required to build the product.

It certainly looks like Tesla will dominate the market in both energy storage and EVs for years to come. It’s hard to compete if you’re struggling to merely catch up. Battery storage and EVs will become increasingly more important over the next decade, and simple economics will drive the change, assisted by the environmental benefits that such technology delivers.

i think the problem that is dawning on me now with stocks is that it's generally far more profitable to just fucking buy some good shit like AAPL and wait for years if not decades, doing nothing. but that's boring. but my boring feeling is the wrong one.

im still gonna day trade with like 10-20k from now on but i think that's it. if it does well great if it doesn't do well i don't really give a shit, it's basically gambling but usually profitable gambling because i actually learned risk management and how to trade breakouts and fakeouts properly.

most people realize that EVs aren't really more environmentally friendly compared to normal cars. ICE bans wouldn't yet be on existing vehicles but on new vehicles which would only increase Tesla's margins because they would see even more demand. The other automakers couldn't suddenly switch over their production, hell they're already having major production issues and they've been forced to delay their EVs by years in some cases. This is before battery availability greatly decreases from cell demand and limits production output. You also have to consider that EV production has lower margins so they're incentivized to put it off as long as possible and their dealers won't sell EVs because they require much less service which is their main source of profit. If they go under Tesla will have a huge advantage because they built their ability to service vehicles without dealerships and the have the much better platform to sell their cars online.

You're missing the bigger picture here which is energy and autonomy. Tesla can make their cars cheaper than their competitors and make up the difference through their efficiency and through software.

I'm not valuing it based on the amount of cars they produce. Tesla has the best approach to autonomous driving and they're reaping the fruits of it long before they actually get there because most people don't care much about the difference between level 3 autonomy and level 5, they just want a car that will do most of the driving. They won't face the same regulatory challenges because they let their drivers take on all the liability and when Tesla finally reaches level 5, they'll be able to convert most of their existing fleet into robo taxis and produce cars for the Tesla Network which is much different than companies like Waymo that have major scaling problems. The first mover advantage here is huge because like what currently happens Uber there is a switching cost, you may pay less with their rival but you'll wait much longer for a drive. Tesla will be even further ahead because if you don't have to pay the driver efficiency becomes king and they can route their cars to be more efficient than their competitors because of higher demand and thus be cheaper as well. Customers who want even cheaper rides will easily be able to ride share and the cost will be on par or even cheaper than public transport.
