Why is it so needed? Why is it such a revolution?

What's wrong with the current way deterministic data is processed?

Why are decentralized, trustless oracles need? What's wrong with the centralized, trusted ones?

Is it a function of removing middle-man?

If so, they can't industries remove Chainlink as the middle man?

Will removing these middle men save that much money?

Anyways, fire away. If this a brainlet question please do give it to me and explain why I am such a brainlet.

Just trying to understand and not FUD.

It seems to me that XRP and flare solves the oracle problem through the use of federated byzantine agreements. It also seems to me that the oracle problem is a problem associated with ethereum and not smart contracts themselves.

You can't currently stake or become a node operator with chainlink, therefore making it centralized to whoever sergey on-boards

Am I understanding this right? Shouldn't the use of federated byzantine agreements to achieve consensus and therefore decentralization pull custody away from the individual node and towards the community that relies on that oracle service?

They are releasing a whole suite of oracles for use as well, found this interesting

oracles.cloud

also flare.ghost.io for those who haven't heard the news

I’m not totally sure what the use case of a chainlink token is. I get the whole oracle thing but are you essentially just buying stock in chainlink as a company when you buy link?

Here is a good intro to Chainlink, history of trade, and why Chainlink is necessary to the future of trade.
Trade in all its forms, require a form of contract.

>>21679095
>Why is it so needed?
It's needed because in order to advance trade to the next level there needs to be a token platform that can handle decentralized automated inputs and outputs for nodes. At another level the AI needs something to interface with, which will be a Chainlink node.

>Why is it such a revolution?
Automation of contracts that require decentralized datafeeds is something entirely new and STILL not implemented. Chainlink is the only major contender working on this problem.

>What's wrong with the current way deterministic data is processed?
The current way is slow. Contracts in modern day rely on a subjective centralized source. Let's use an easy example of insurance. If the insurance company doesn't believe your story then you don't get your insurance payments. Smart contracts will handle these things as an objective decentralized oracle.

>Why are decentralized, trustless oracles need?
>What's wrong with the centralized, trusted ones?
Because centralized "trusted" oracles are inherently flawed. There is a motivation for the insurance company to NOT give you money. With decentralized smart contracts there cannot be manipulation of the contract.

Ownerless contracts are better than owned contracts because you can't do anything about it when the insurance company decides to deny your claim as they are the ones that own the contract, not you.

>Is it a function of removing middle-man?
No. There will always be middle men. This is about removing necessary evils from the market with necessary goods.

I'll continue in my next post.

You guys want answers, and then cry about it when you don't get it in seconds. I'm not going to continue my posts as you can't wait a bit for a decent response.

You deserve to miss the boat that is the 4th industrial revolution. You've had 3 years to research and ask these questions. You've waited until the boat is leaving to ask, and then you try to bash anyone giving you answers.

Thank you Anon for your thoughtful response...

I guess in terms of Defi... what's wrong with the way it's currently done?

When's the last time there was corrupted internal data? From my limited perspective it seems the deterministic data, in flows and out flows is running like a clock.

FALL IN MARINES. Link Pool will be speaking in that list. Do some simple math. Pull threads starting at the summit, the Defi season starts there. And staking options HAVE to be competitive with boomer stocks, of course they will decrease as the network grows but this is what we accumulated for this whole time.

Expect a dip on the news and then the climb after. If you miss the rocket but had the means, it's your own fault.
