Yep I just bought pretty much a local top it's not a big deal in the big picture. I feel like they've shaken a lot of weak hands during the last couple of weeks. Take AG for example. Every time silver's been up a couple of percent AG has been up less than that and whenever silver's had a down day AG has went down in multiples. Consequently AG is currently trading at the same level it was trading when silver was less than 18 USD/oz in 2019. It makes no sense. It's like the miners have not reacted to the recent price move in pms. Like they are not believing this bull market.

They are part of ETFs, lots of speculative investors like us get cold feet. When you get a real selloff (which we haven't had in over a decade, March was nothing compared to 2008, since the Fed stepped in), you better believe that type of stuff is going to the floor. I realize holding cash is a risk, but I'm for sure keeping cash around for buying a potential hard crash.

Again as someone who was an adult through 2008, the fear was 10x in 2008. When the real shit hits the fan, you better believe it will get ugly. All these gold and silver stocks will tank too btw, they are all part of ETFs and mutual funds and people do little hedges in them. All of that adds up.

Theoretically yes but as weve seen in the past months it often takes printing a massive earning to drag the share price up. Thats why I'm personally not bullish on juniors/explorers right now at all. If they can't print earnings they probably aren't worth it short term.

Miners won't crash. He's fudding. We've been hearing about this "one last pullback" since April from the TA frauds, who told us that gold would crash when it was $1670, and silver when it was $17, but who then boasted wildly about their foresight when gold finally "dropped" on 11 August to $1860, and silver to $24. Miners didn't fall during the second leg down of the great crash of 1929. Homestake Mining, the ancestor of Barrick Gold, which Warren Buffett just bought, went up 90% as the Dow was going down 90%. All in all, Homestake rose 500% during that period. Nobody with an ounce of sense would be stupid enough to throw away their miners at this point. Who would sell Barrick Gold, for example, which is paying an eight-cent dividend on every stock, a dividend which can only go higher as their earnings inevitably improve? Only a fool. The fools are gone. Only strong hands remain. The miner sell-off before was a once-in-a-century event which will never repeat itself. It was a result of now-impossibly-fraudulent COMEX manipulation of the metals, and mass hysteria about the coronavirus.

In 2008 gold price fell over 25% after the Bear Stearns rescue. Gold investors panicked. But second half of 2009 they started to take off again. If the stock market crashes hard, gold prices will for sure drop like a rock and we'll be able to buy more cheaply. Then I believe during recovery if the QE keeps up then gold prices would rise like they did in 2009.

We had more room to lower rates, that's for sure, and we are printing way more now. But here is the thing that got us the last time around: We (myself included) thought all the things that are being said now (dollar debasement, can't print so much, massive inflation, etc)... and then nothing really happened. The government and Fed were able to kinda kick the problem down the road. So now the question is, will they be able to do that again? Will they be able to inflate the market even more and push the problem down another decade or so? Lots of people say no, but, we don't really know that for sure. I was sure in 2010 that it couldn't work, and held a lot of overpriced gold for a long time.

New here taking my lumps. I bought ishares gold (IAU) over a year ago - unfortunately thinking it was physical gold. (Also didn't realize the hefty tax on the back end above regular cap gains). Live and learn.

I just found this thread and have learned a lot from you guys but I'm getting anxious now about this "paper gold" investment I'm holding and the problems being suggested on here about physical redemptions and the possibility of a collapse.

I have the stomach to watch a "pull-back" in price but not a total collapse of the Comex system. Is that what is being suggested here? Should I be selling into this pull-back in order to get out of "paper gold" by next Thursday?

I was considering taking half off the table and leaving the rest to ride and see where it goes. I've just got an incredible cost-basis and would hate to make an emotional decision based off of a rumor on 4 chan.

Comex won't "fail" but they're sweating profusely. Deliveries are being demanded and exceed what they have available for delivery. These deliveries are for arbitrage and in an effort to preserve wealth, the two have a positive feedback loop. There's overwhelming demand for physical which means we're going to see some batty shit. Additionally, there's underwhelming production. You measure your risk tolerance. I'm paying the extra dollars for physical money. Now that I feel stacked enough, for the next 12 months or so, I'll be happy to manage paper assets.

Violence is actually a nigger thing.
Certain races had more tendency for “irrational” violence.
Even rich blacks commit more violence than rich whites.
Mid Covd pandemic there was a news of a black woman refused to go to a store without the mask.
So she left, went back to her car, came back (which means she fucking had time to understand that shooting someone ain’t worth it, over a mask) and shot a black worker.
Her dad was fucking loaded and she actually was a restaurant owner.

It is genetic.
If I can breed dogs that can be vicious, smart, docile or dumb (and dogs are all one specie, just like how humans are just one specie)then humans can be like that too.
Crimes used to be an excuse of being poor (stealing food etc)
Today it’s different though
ThingS like crime are mostly because of irrationality, extreme selfishness, psychopathy and impulsiveness.
All these traits are genetic and have various degree in humans.

False argument. Northern Europeans were complete barbarians, until they were civilized by the Greeks and Romans. The process took hundreds or even thousands of years, depending upon how you regard it. Blacks were isolated by the Sahara desert during all history, except for a little contact with traders, who persecuted and enslaved them. They then had the benefit of 100 years of colonialism before being cut off and forced to fend for themselves. At any rate, don't understand why you're bringing neo-Naziism into an Austrian thread. We believe in free will and the gold standard here, not racialism and biological determinism. In fact, I don't understand why you're bringing neo-Naziism into a business and finance thread.

The barbarians were not civilized by breeding with the Romans. Germany wasn't even conquered by Rome. In fact, it was the Germans who conquered and overwhelmed the Romans. They were then civilized by the remnants of Graeco-Roman learning. So the genetic hypothesis completely falls flat. And as I was pointing out in an earlier thread, ancient Athens fell from being the most civilized and powerful country in the world, to a perpetual slave for 2,000 years, even though its blood didn't change in the slightest. As Sir John Glubb says in his "Fate of Empires," we rise by our virtue and fall by our vice, not our blood.

The Germans were constantly fighting in civil wars, for hundreds of years, and the process made them no less aggressive than they were before. They only become relatively more peaceful once they settled in the Roman lands, and were softened by civilization and luxury. Exactly the same thing happened to the Persians. Read the Histories of Herodotus, and see the principles which Herodotus puts into the mouth of Cyrus. The ancients didn't believe that blood makes us what we are either. The idea that blood makes you who you are is a product of 19th-century materialism, and materialism is the author of both Naziism and communism. If you believe in biological determinism, then the state should order our lives, and either breed or manage a perfect world. If you believe in free will, on the other hand, you believe in liberty and the gold standard, and in allowing people to make their own moral decisions. If you believe in the soul, then, once you see a noble man like Thomas Sowell, I don't understand how you can possibly be a racialist. He cannot be dismissed as some sort of "outlier." Human intelligence is far more complicated than that. If blacks really are doomed to be a race of savages, then men like Sowell ought never to exist. He never could have "evolved" the capacity to be so intelligent, so kind, so wise, and so good.

So much so, that Alexander came to his tomb, and called his. Lost father(so Persians can believe him)
Alexander though believed that “culture” is what makes you Greek so he tried to expaand Greek culture and anyone speak it and dress Greek is greek(look at Buddha for example, that dress is a Greek toga)
But he was an anomaly, Seleucid a that came right after him completely rejected culture is what makes you Greek and made it “back” to “being Greek is blood or nothing”

I have no idea where it's going in the short term. I do know that no matter which way you slice it we are heading back to hard money and somehow gold and silver will be there to defend whatever that hard money is. There isn't enough gold and silver to go around and despite all the faggot threats of mining asteroids and 'omfg there is so much silver in American it's just not worth mining because of it's gay price,' it's clear none of that is the truth. There is barely enough silver and the huge production rates we've been having in the last 20 years to give everyone a 1/10th oz coin every year. If silver were to act as money the obvious price would have to be enormous. I think this is going to take a long time to play out. I think too many people get excited that it's all going to be over soon. I think it's going to be more like 10-15 years until we know the truth. But, in the 2021-2024 range gold and silver may have a day... a really good day. But what does that mean? It's probably going to be out of shortages rather than huge demand and consumption.

Antiquity was non-racialist. Any classicist will tell you that. It's a self-evident fact to anybody who is acquainted with ancient literature. Socrates speaks of conversing, in spirit, with great men in the afterlife, when he conceives of a future state. The ancients believed that the soul, and not the body, is our identity. Racialism would have made no sense to them. In Homer's Iliad, one of the greatest speeches is where Sarpedon says that only virtue makes a king worthy to rule. Memnon, a black Ethiopian, was one of the heroes in the Trojan War, and nobody saw any problem in that.

"Soft lands breed soft men; wondrous fruits of the earth and valiant warriors grow not from the same soil.” -- Cyrus the Great

Observe the principle there. Hardship and virtue, not blood, says Cyrus, make a great civilization.

Alexander was not an anomaly. Zeno, for example, the founder of Stoicism, was a Semite, but the Athenians conferred citizenship on him, and treated him like a god. It is also said that Thales had Semitic blood. Augustus and Octavian adopted a North African, Juba II, and brought him up like a son. He became a great scholar, and later married a Greek princess, Cleopatra.

I buy because nothing else interests me, savings rates are shit, and I'd rather have a silver ounce than a meal at a restaurant.
It's a store of wealth, not a dream that one day everything will crumble and silver and gold will rule the world and I'll be the only one with PM so whatever dream I have will come true.
A quick search on the US Mint shows 211,000 gold buffalos were sold in 2016.
Just 1 coin from one mint in 1 year. It's precious, but not that rare.
With that said, I'm thinking of using my PM I'm a year or two as a down payment on land. That sounds like the boat you'd be in too.

And to add to that there is something like 3.5 billion oz of silver bullion on earth. So about 1/2 oz per person. When you look at it like that... if silver is money, it's miss-priced dramatically.

Something that is a lesson from the current Wu Flu is that even though Trump blames China... there really isn't a solid case and China isn't taking the blame. Because of this and the fact the Americans and others are doing nothing about pinning China for it... this will happen again. How many times can this occur without completely turning most countries GDP into a literal black hole. In that situation I can't see cash money being of any real use.

You can mostly find them in poor people(being impulsive cause you to be poor) and in criminal.
They are overwhelmingly black

DXY is red again. My miners are up. Tech is up. The only thing ruining this day for me is the fact that Tesla is almost 2k, thus is, currently, worth more than gold.
For now.
People really believe in this company I guess.

Super computer says gold is meant to max out at $5,000/oz. If gold and silver are money that would mean there will be massive deflation even at that price. If gold gets to the $10,000/oz range the USD is finished then and there.

While I agree and am in the camp of PM stacking basically being your own bank rather then a lotto ticket, there are a few things to consider.

When fiat has finally done what fiat always does, very few people will have the purchasing power to buy land, and prices are already over valued for property. This will be coupled with more dollars chasing that same property, so the price of land measured in Oz's really does have great potential to skew in stacker's favour.

You got it. USD will not be accepted world wide - this is for a few reasons. Just imagine the rush of USD back to the USA. We are talking trillions and trillions. That's got to find a home. It will be in bonds and stocks and PM's. But as the government can't do shit about the shit economy it's going to go out of bonds into real assets in the economy, equities and PM's. Just imagine how much of a sucker you'll need to be to sell your house when gold is at $10,000/oz. How the hell do you price your house? Or car? Or anything? And the economy will not function at all.

With employees working from home, I wouldn't be surprised if companies get out of their commercial leases and allocate their rent/mortgage to upper-scale residential properties.
The more they buy, the more they can charge. Guaranteed income and an appreciating asset.

Not only that (chart) but the burger is smaller, not just a higher cost. If gold went to even $5,000 the burger will be $12 at least and probably of a shittier quality again. I think a more realistic price would be $20 as there would be a real shortage of input ingredients at that point.

>> No.21671631

>>21671457
Not if the pricing is not solely due to dollar debasement. Part of our problem is that gold has been 1) undervalued in recent times due to demonetization and good times and 2) suppressed through price manipulation. In terms of beachball held underwater, there's still a lot of room gold could increase based solely on a return to demand as a store of value. Gold holders are a very small group. If the general public understood that they all should be holding at least a little bit of gold as a crisis hedge, then there would be huge amount of demand that hasn't been there for a long time. Couple that with the end of COMEX price suppression, and gold could hit multiples of its current value without including inflation.

I agree with this. The assumption of FUBAR has to be that USD is no longer the reserve currency, debts are resolved, and dollars flood back to the USA or that we continue spending domestically without production. I don't really see this being overly dramatic based on the crunch from earlier this year. When we handed out dollars to foreign countries, they were bond swaps iirc.

Yep. If they were honest about inflation, they'd have to spend too much on SS COLAs. It would also make it obvious to normies how much their wages were being reduced by each year since most businesses aren't giving COLAs.

You do realise that officially the US economy is down something like -38% from Jan to Jun and we've printed 3 or 4 trillion at the Fed which is 20% of GDP. It's obvious the printing isn't going to stop and my stupid guess is the more the Fed prints the smaller the GDP will get.
