Yeah. That's what I wonder if they would even allow. At that point, do they get COMEX to intervene like with the Hunts? Even if they do nothing, and just simply deliver, Their ability to sell contracts in the future is going to take a major hit. No matter what happens, it feels like it's incredibly bullish for PMs. Either COMEX defaults or shows its shady hand with more rule changes, or the ability to short with monopolistic power walks out the door with those deliveries. Maybe we don't see default, but we definitely see PMs gaining some freedom from price manipulation.

>> No.21489730

That's the ultimate goal. Whether COMEX exists or not, the PM industry needs to get away from it for pricing. They have to see at this point that such derivative markets are manipulated to screw producers. I know Keith of First Majestic does. FM hasn't dropped their price below $30 at all this dip. As producers can more easily sell directly to industry and consumers, there's no need for the COMEX for hedging or pricing. It just needs to be cut out of the process altogether as whatever games they play has no bearing on the supply and demand of physical PMs.

If they got rid of delivery alltogether and just made it a cash settled market (which is what you want for hedging) with like 10% backing in physical, I would be happy. With their supposed 300 million ounces they can still claim it's a clearinghouse instead of an insurance operation.

That makes the most sense, they’d simply freeze trading and liquidate at current prices. I wonder what happens to options contracts in that case, I have to imagine that in the money contracts can be sold for their literal value, while OTM contracts become worthless, as implied volatility would be effectively zero.

I’m holding a fat stack of physical, but also a large amount of SLV calls for the sheer upside. I bought like $60 worth of $9 January puts last week just to hedge in case it literally goes to zero, seemed like a decent insurance play.

Options contracts are paid out by a clearing house, not directly between buyers and sellers. In the absurdly unlikely event that a multi-billion dollar fund went to 0, the amount of owed money from put options would likely be substantial. It would become a messy court dispute about who has to pay, because the sellers likely only had ~10% margin. The clearing house could very well go bankrupt. Then there would be insurance involved, which could go bankrupt too.

Theres no precedent I'm aware of for this happening. But lawyers are never your friend so I wouldnt expect the big payday you were promised.

if you can handle the volatility crypto is a great asset class. I'm up 2x over the last 2 months after dropping some savings in, and use some the profit to buy silver.

it's a matter of if you believe in the technology and are excited about the potential for a decentralized financial system. if so, get some tokens. BTC is a good store of value but the coming bullrun will see some wildswings, and ETH has a lot of upside. the whole crypto market (~$350B) will probably surge into $1T territory over the next year, so take that for what it's worth.

some other altcoins are imo prudent medium-term investments. LINK, PNK, RSR, SWAP, RLC are altcoins that are all worth a look. the crypto market is set for a major bullrun Q1 so getting some skin in the game with some spare change may be a good choice. again, only if you a) are excited about DeFi tech, b) can do your own research and want to read the whitepapers and such, and c) want to further decouple your financial welfare from the state.

It's a great asset class to diversify and I'm rather bullish on crypto over the next year, but boomers will talk all day about "invisible magic internet beans" and laugh at it. that's usually a buy signal for me. keep in mind people do the same for PM. if shit talking paid the bills, no one would ever be hungry.

Australia and a dozen other countries have tried it, they always fail. The interest isn't there, historically, at least. Who knows, maybe things change with normie adoption, but it seems like any successful gold-backed digital currency must have national reserve status, as in, must be backed by a state actor, which would pull the rug out from under the whole thing from the start. could be wrong though. I just don't see the need in a decentralized digital economy for gold backed currency.

You should recognize a few details that would indicate what I shared in the post you replied too. Unless something changes in the next 24 hours with major media coverage of the deal, you may not need to worry about chasing it at the open. As such I would expect Barrick to trade pretty normally along with the other miners. In other words, if the sector is weak, so too will be Barrick on a relative basis and therefore opportunity to buy lower than an open where a relative few will be bidding up in their bubble of magnifying the popularity and power potential of the news that simply is not there yet.

Silver is lower value and easier to liquidate/trade. It’s also thought that silver is far more undervalued than gold, so when they rise in the future, as a percentage, silver is going to increase more, bringing the gold to silver price ratio down. Meaning, at some point, many here will trade some of their silver in for gold. So you can potentially get more gold in the future per dollar spent today by buying silver now and then trading for gold when the ratio decreases than if you just bought gold today. Probably still a good idea to have some gold now anyway. Mike Maloney is stacking at a ratio of 500 Oz of silver for every 1 Oz of gold he has. Find what works for you and your situation, but got to have at least some gold now and then go silver.

Inside info.

Default has happened.

Started two weeks ago. Everything is being done in closed door in person meetings with JP Morgan execs, the top 10% of COMEX contract holders and (weirdly enough) the top brass from the Pentagon.

Contracts are being cashed out from largest to smallest right now with a scheduled payment on the Sept delivery date. Those who are getting cashed out are being made to sign agreements that they won't talk to the public media officially about this in order to ensure an as smooth as possible default without public panic.

After the largest clients (banks) are cashed out, the COMEX will declare bankruptcy and small client contracts will be nullified.

Government is confiscating the remaining silver and gold for a yet unspecified reason.

The news of this will break sometime between now and September once all the plans are finalized.

Apparently the government has been in the process of confiscating gold/silver from high net worth pedophiles for the past 4 years. They have given up their vaults in return for partial immunity.

The Trump Administration has brought back most of the gold that has been looted from Fort Knox over the past 40 years. They are storing confiscated precious metals (along with other strategic resources) in Deep Underground Military Bases within the various mountain ranges in the USA.

Trump has apparently had something in mind to end the Fed system since before running for office.

Henlo frens, brainlet here.
I created an account on a popular broker to buy some miners stonks, but i don't understand how it works, each time i place an order, it end up doing nothing, no matter what i try (no limits, no stoplosses, to market price,...), so after few days with 0 changes i end up cancelling my placed orders. I'm so confused frens, why my orders never end up being met? Please send halp, i'm using Degiro.

>do you have a shred of evidence for these claims or are you a q-tard?

Only proof I’m aware of is the FED creating the infrastructure to “port” over banks/CUs DDAs. Not nearly enough to back what’s being claimed here but the powers that be do seem to be setting the stage to create a conduit for depositors to weather the financial storm.

Also will note the similarities to the prior posting from March:

Here is the series of events that will take place instead.

>coronachan devistates world economy
>all countries bend knee economically to their ((central banks)) for liquidity
>USD begins to inflate dramatically
>doesn't stop stock market from tanking
>emergency meeting called by Trump
>audit of US gold supply from several sources takes place.
>audit comes back with surprising result... The us has 10x more gold than was previously on the books.
((it seems that Trump has raided the gold supply of the elite in return for immunity deals))
>announces that Treasury dollars are now available and backed by gold and silver at a rate of $100,000 treasury dollars per oz of gold.
>any US CITIZEN can exchange the money in their bank accounts for a new US treasury account (exchange rate of USD to new UST to be determined somewhere between 1/1 and 1/10 probably)
>all of ((their)) banks fail as CITIZENS begin mass exodus of USD and open a Treasury bank account.

Trumps master plan begins to take shape. Trump has taken a simple stone (gold) and crushed ((them)) with it. Trump has finished the work of Jackson and routed the vipers completely out.

This sets USA up for literal golden era while all other central bank countries begin to collapse around us.

Manufacturing comes back and new life is breathed into the USA. All other countries want to do business with us as they collapse.

The only thing from that post that didnt stack up was the "look for $60 silver and $300 gold within six weeks"

I think it was either a typo for months, which i have made several times myself, or they were overestimating their ability to unravel things. Im betting the former because that alligns neatly with my own confirmation and other biases.

I think in that same post he mentions "taking the reigns off of the gold and silver markets" on March 3rd.

Oil going negative and effectively taking the reigns off the markets didn't happen until April 20th.

This is unironically the reason I started stacking. Either a very neat glowie psyop or legit information, and probably both.

Or Peter Schiff had a few too many lime a ritas and went on a shitposting spree and he is back.

If you are holding indexes right now you're dumb, as gold will demonstrably outperform then for the course of its bull run.

Of course, if you have a specific stock(s) you feel will outperform the market and gold both, go nuts. Just keep in mind that most people who think they have one are wrong and would be better off holding index etfs, so do a gut check on how good you really are at stock picking.

The flaw in thinking it could be an already in circulation project just doesn't fly. There's nothing stopping the US mint from simply designing their own technology behind it and monitoring it as such. Ripple can shill their technology all they want to banks, but assuming the US Treasury goes through with a gold backed crypto, it'll definitely be their own that they can track and determine who gets what when monthly gibs are distributed.

Keeping that separate from a private market (BTC and all the alts) would resemble healthcare. You have government issued options, but for those that work and make a living they have to pay into the market.

I'm going to stop veering off topic now. This week I'm heading to my local dealer to see what's available. Any tips for making sure I'm not going to get bamboozled? Mostly walk in knowing the current spot value and seeing what their premiums are will be what I'm working with.

Assuming the existing vaults which store the metal are secure (?) why would these vaults no longer be secure after [whatever] change happens?

Is it just MORE security to offset against a GREATER threat to the PMs that’s justifying the relocation/deals with COMEX/etc?

I’d be curious to see what drives the calculation to risk of moving the metal from an already presumed safe location to a safer location is a good play.

My best guess is constants which we assume to hold true will change (eg dramatic increase in lawlessness in urban centers; inability to control the chain of command overseeing the non-military vaults, etc.)

As I said before no idea if you’re larping or not but find this stuff fascinating. Thanks fren.

I support the theory that the Dollar will be crashed on purpose to be replaced with Metal-backed FEDcoin and paper FEDbux just so the Boomers don't have to use computers all the time. One last thing before I go. I am not a financial advisor, so take my following statement with a pound of salt.

Buy First Majestic ASAP. I believe US government is in talks with them and the Mexican and Canadian government specifically regarding their massive physical silver hoard and in ground resources. A cash infusion is going straight to them if they agree to supply metals to all three governments with the exclusion of overseas interests.

This will affect other Mexican miners as well, except it seems First Majestic will be a starting point. This is an agreement to avoid nationalization and provide protection as silver becomes a much more valuable commodity.

This is a big deal.

Think the complexity of the situation is beyond comprehension here too. Besides the mental porn fix I get from the PMGs I follow the TGDGs/BDanon. Not rendering an opinion one way or the other on them save that I find them a good read, but if one considers the economic angle here and then ties in the geopolitical angle of a major disaster knocking out the CCP and taking Chy-an offline for a decade, it starts to unravel quickly.

Point is I suspect they’re multiple different but related issues which have to be balanced and reconciled with each other and thinking that we can even begin to guess what’s really going on based on the 0.001% we see is ludicrous. At best we MIGHT get a feel for just how much it is we don’t know we don’t know...and a few good reads on Sunday afternoon.

>So what would happen to the global prices of gold if America delegalized private ownership of metals and tried to implement some kind of metal standard?

I don’t think they’ll delegalize ownership as the risk to doing so would outweigh the risk of them not doing it. This ain’t the 30’s and burgers who own PMs also own guns. Just not worth it imho.

Maybe a better question to ask is “how much gold/silver/(?) does the US own”? Depending on the answer the US may be able to back the “new” dollar with enough to maintain the public’s confidence. Rickards makes the accurate point that the KEY is what does one peg a new unit of currency to the underlying base(es). Again don’t know what the answer here is but the CBs/larps/Buffets hoovering up gold suggest those who have more of it will be better of than those who have less of it.

>Would other countries try to do the same as quickly as possible? What about the poorfag countries with no gold reserves?

Don’t know. Canada pissed away their gold. Think Brown sold off the UKs gold at the bottom too. Countries without reserves will not be able to import as easily as those that do have reserves, so there’s that. Also suspect too if the USD dies it’ll take the USD debt ledger with it. Silver lining there for borrowers...especially if they borrowed to buy real assets. Point is it’ll be painful but the pain opens the door to opportunity and a fresh start...even for poor countries. Hell...even for the fucking leafs.

>I'm asking you cause you seem to know what you're talking about.

I do not. I know there’s a fuckton I know NOTHING about and try to keep an open mind.

>I have 10 ounces, I live in the UK but that's not my country of birth. Technically speaking I could fuck off with my gold if I wanted to.

You dont need to compare yourself against someone else, you alone are responsible for your stack and if and how you are gonna make it.
If you need something for psychological reasons, I have around 40oz gold and I still feel underinvested for the economic troubles there are coming. I have a colleague that calculated for himself the need of purchasing power of 1oz silver per day and he estimated that the period of depression will last 3 years, so he bought 2 masterboxes of silver (1000oz).

I follow a lot of the same as well, if we going to be fed disinfo constantly from all angles, it might as well be entertaining and provide hope is the whole of my thoughts on the topic.

I do think BDanons assertion that gold can be made with nuclear fusion technology or whatever is something that deserves slightly more concern than asteroid mining. Even if it isn't strictly possible now, how do we know it won't be possible in 10-15 years?

I think there is more truth in the broad strokes of these and similar guys than in much of the rest of the info sources that are forced down everyone's throats. It may seem a little wacky, but I am a well paid data analyst with tons of experience in tech and work in the private sector and have been following geopolitics and economics for years, and things keep adding up over and over and over to the point where I can "predict" future events and reactions to things simply by paying attention to larpers.

Everyone else is constantly flabbergasted and outraged, and I'm like, how did you not see this coming? It's almost completely futile to try to explain to most people.. which is frustrating, but every day people are seeing it more and more.

There's really only one worldview where everything falls neatly into place.

Funny enough, in the past a 1000 ounces of silver would be more than enough to hire a small army for yourself to conquer a piece of land and establish the new rule to continue pay the army to keep the plebs in check.

If there is a massive shakeup we have no idea how the value is going to work out. 1oz/day is likely more than necessary, but if you are preparing for the worst then you want to be prepared for the worst.

I am also stacking for a 1oz silver/day need, but I am only planning for a 1year supply of silver since I believe that a year is enough time for me to stabilize my living situation without needing to rely entirely on the metal.

countless gold and silver bullions are nominated in ANOTHER CURRENCY THAN THE USD! yeah! that means if someone buys a - let's say sovereign which is nominated in GBp - he has to buy GBp (it's often transparent for the buyer that currencies are converted back and forth. if you buy a plane ticket, which contains a part of the price of the fuel you don't have to give additional usd if you pay with eur.)
this kind of gold selling by the crown stabilizes the currencies in cou tries where the queen is still the chief.

Would be a powerful tool if tech outside the public’s conception of possible were [is] in play. Be it printing gold with ayyyy power generators or creating earthquakes at just the right time and place...clever way to project power and get away with it as no one is really looking.

Many people suggest stacking based on the GSR - it's currently somewhere around 70:1.
Mike Maloney stated he has been stacking 500 silver : 1 gold.
Some people only have physical silver.
Some people only have physical gold.
Some people say to only stack silver if the GSR is above a certain threshold (usually 40:1), or only stack gold if the GSR is below a certain threshold.

>>21498077
It's not just about liabilities, it's also about what you are actually able to spend it on locally. If everyone is starving and there are widespread food shortages, you're going to have a hard time buying food with silver regardless of how valuable silver 'should' be. This is also why I always advocate that people should be storing food/water/firstaid/etc before worrying about stacking gold/silver. Gold and silver are for preserving wealth, if you don't have the essentials of life FIRST then you don't have any wealth to preserve.
