Smart Contracts are currently hackable. At the bottom of this post is a free tutorial on how to steal from Smart Contracts by targeting their single node. Chainlink fixes this. Chainlink acts as a middleman which will secure the transaction and create multiple nodes. Pic related shows what this looks like. Without Chainlink, there would be only one data input, and one node. Pic related shows how Chainlink creates more nodes which secures the transaction. The hacker mentioned in this video is creating an updated series (check his blog or newest video) on a new method for targeting the Smart Contract node. If you understood all this and still don't see how Chainlink isn't valuable then you don't understand the security flaws that Chainlink has solved. Crypto needs Smart Contracts and they need to make sure that their transactions are safe from hackers like below.

Without chainlink?

Chainlink can be reprogrammed by another team homie, chainlink is a meme. It will go to 1000 but it’s a literal meme. It is a good company but the code is not top 5 worth. Just ride the wave but don’t sit here uneducating the masses

The real game changer is Harmony One. There will be another chainlink but it will be rebuilt on harmony

Yeah that would be well and good if hackers couldn't target your ledger and steal your linkies through the %SQL exploit.

Yes that is what a decentralized oracle network means. Everyone on biz knows all this already.

Why doesn’t maker and comp use chainlink then if it’s so needed?

Harmony isn't very volatile. As much as I care about crypto's future, I like profit more.

Because it’s enough for their niche single blockchain uses. Link allows for generality. Why is Ethereum so successful? It allows generality. That’s why Vitalik was so insistent on Turing-completeness. Ethereum is literally a decentralized world computer. So Maker not needing Link is like Mackinac Island not needing a gas station since they only have horses. The rest of the world finds having gas stations useful.

It's impossible for Chainlink to fix the problem described in that video, that's just an incorrectly written smart contract. Fuck you.

Interesting. I know very little about programming, would this be more easily avoided if the smart contract was programmed in Haskell on Cardano?

What does it matter if the "code is not top 5 worth" that.s fucking retarded. Have you had a look at Facebook and Instagrams source codes? They are fucking simplest shit ever you wanna say they don't deserve the market share they have because of their code?
Fucking idiot unbelievable.
It's worth what people are ready to pay for it.

Chainlink runs on all the various Eth killer platforms though, Harmony, Tezos, blah blah blah.

>>21472490
Maker has shitty, vulnerable, exploitable oracles though because instead of allowing community governance to decide on using the Chainlink price feed, they're a bunch of reddit-tier hipster faggots that shoot down the suggestion because they have a bug in their head. And Compound is VC owned crap, Aave is much better & will hopefully take their throne (as well as using Chainlink).
