All the technical analysts got the 11 August drop right. Geniuses, the lot of them.

Like David Brady, who has been calling for gold to drop to $1400 since it was $1670, and for silver to drop past $16 since it was $18. He really benefited his followers when gold dropped all the way to $1860 and silver to $24.

Or Gary Savage, who held JNUG to the bottom in 2016 and got wiped out.

Or Heinrik Zeberg, who has been calling for $700 gold for years.

As I say, Twitter TA people are geniuses.

This. What's odd is the recent positive correlation between bonds and equities. Not sure what to make of it.

>Could this mean the investors are selling bonds to buy gold?
>Like... gold and silver? Thanks fren!

Don't know [what] people are buying but suggest the way to think about is [why] are people buying/selling.

People buy bonds/sell stocks when they're scared and seeking the perceived safe harbors [read: more fear than greed]. When they're no longer scared and willing to take risks [read: more greed than fear] they sell bonds to buy something else.

I can tell many rock boomers are very salty on missing out on btc and link... PM Is their attempt on catching a moon mission, we all secretly hope that pms pull a crypto tier moon shot..

That being said, I like and own both, its better to diversify your assets, which portfolio do you think is better?
10 oz gold 1 btc or 15oz gold ..? Especially if you bought the BTC for cheap.

If I went all in on pms years ago I would be nowhere close to the crypto gains, but I do admit the crashes fucked me up.

Being all in on anything is stupid imo.

I do enjoy gold and silver and it does make you sleep better at night knowing you have some wealth tucked away.

You just can't know what will happen in these times, the same rhetoric about gold has been talked about decades ago, that at any moment it will moon and dollar will crash. So far the zombie economy has still been crawling..

Those who bought all in silver around 2012 have had a lot of lost opportunity cost, that's why its always better to slowly accumulate over time.

J. P. Morgan is the custodian of SLV. If you understand that they can dump 2 billion paper ounces on the COMEX in a single day, which is 20x the annual investable supply of silver, why on earth would you trust that SLV is backed by real physical silver.

Hemke does allude to SLV briefly in that video. He talks about the spoofing and manipulation which is done with it, and about the Bart Chilton interview which Chilton did with Chris Marcus just before he died, who confirmed this.

The inflows into SLV are impossible. Andrew Maguire was talking about this only a few days ago. You literally can't get silver bars any more. They have virtually disappeared. So where is SLV getting all their silver from? Often, one month or one week of the annual world supply of silver is allegedly flowing in there in a single day. But if you ask them for a bar list, they won't give it to you, and it is almost impossible to take delivery from them.

The 500 owners to real ounce statistic _is_ about SLV. It's about both the COMEX and SLV. Chris Marcus interviewed dozens of insiders in the silver and mining industry for his book The Big Silver Short, and he never got an answer lower than that number.

In the interview, he talks about the 120 million ounces JPM has, and how they have been selling short for so long, dumping shorts whenever they want to make steady, monthly income off of their silver stockpile, but that in the last few months people are actually taking delivery, so they're losing their silver position
This does not equate to equity in the silver stockpile diminishing; in other words, just because JPM is losing money & silver, doesn't mean that shares in SLV are not representative of the stake in the bullion stockpile
SLV is independent of their COMEX operations - do they use SLV & their connections through their SLV branch to run their COMEX?
Yes. But that doesn't mean diluted shares / a belly up fund
Please show me in the interview where he says anything indicating SLV going belly up
If anything, he indicates that it is in JPM's interest to either stop shorting, or go long, so that they make $100 million for every $1 silver goes up
Again, if you can show me Hemke indicating SLV is illegitimate I will shut up

>>21366472
I am with you that JPM is not to be trusted - but I do not see their silver stockpile as you do. I think that it is their move to manipulate the market, to create a monopoly on actual physical bullion. I think the longterm play for them is to get that $80-100 silver; I do not think the emperor has no clothes, because I think that they have known all along that the clothes will make them trillions and trillions of dollars
Do they use their stockpile of silver to manipulate the market to make money over the past 10 years, yes.

Also, it is naive to argue that "because I can't get physical silver, JP Morgan can't get physical silver" - that is not how the world works brother. It's impossible to believe that the silver really is getting added into SLV. Watch those videos, look into the inflows. How can you add a month's worth of the annual silver supply in one day, at the same time that wholesalers can't get any silver bars? It's not possible. And the fact that J. P. Morgan won't give you a bar-list or let you verify that the silver is really there, or that they have been manipulating the silver market with fake contracts for ten years, or that SLV has a hidden clause allowing it to declare force majeure, simply corroborate this impossibility.

“The Exchange determined at this time to base its estimates of deliverable supply of gold on eligible and registered stock stored at Exchange approved depositories. The Exchange recognizes that gold is used as an investment vehicle and as such some gold stock may be held as a long-term investment. While surveys conducted indicated no clear consensus as to how much gold is dedicated to long term investments, the Exchange, in an effort to represent a conservative deliverable supply that may be readily available for delivery, made a determination at this time to discount from its estimate of deliverable supply 50% of its reported eligible gold at this time. The Exchange may, at a later date, determine not to discount such stock or to recognize a discount level that is more or less than 50% of reported eligible gold when calculating deliverable supply estimates.”

You're claiming to know the silver market better than everybody who is actually in it. Virtually nobody believes that J. P. Morgan can actually get their hands on these alleged SLV silver inflows. The people who actually mine silver out of the ground and know the industry say that they are an absolute joke. We know how much silver goes into bullion investment each year--only about 100 million ounces. The rest is consumed in industry The mines have been shut down this year. There is nowhere for J. P. Morgan to get their silver from. There isn't some secret supply for them to draw upon which is not available to every wholesaler on the planet. Nobody stockpiles silver.

I think that the reasons for not being transparent in SLV is because of their manipulation practices for their shorts - they've been fleecing the market for hundreds of millions every month, regular / steady income (which Hemke emphasizes that's what the banks want - they don't want a big one time pay out, they want regular steady income)
If they were to be 100% transparent they wouldn't have been able to be as successful, or successful for as long in their manipulation

>at the same time that wholesalers can't get any silver bars
It's just the way the world works - it's the same reason why these banks:
http://about.ag/SLV/WhosWho.htm
are the only ones that are able to withdraw silver from SLV
and why you have primary dealers for the Fed
https://www.newyorkfed.org/markets/pridealers_listing.html

You're also forgetting that we just saw 2 of the largest remaining silver trusts go belly up, leaving JPM essentially alone (you don't think that they're going to eat up some of that physical share the others had?)

Yes. The Fed funds rate is just the overnight rate and only "influences" longer maturity yields. QE was basically YCC light where they pick a dollar amount and say, "We'll buy $200 billion worth of bonds in order to provide downward pressure on longer term rates." YCC is QE infinity where they have a rate target, not a dollar target. So if they have to spend trillions to keep the 10Y below whatever their target is, BRRR is the word.

If you think J. P. Morgan has some secret stockpile of silver, then why was Hemke able to predict the $19 to $29 silver breakout on the basis that J. P. Morgan had only 150 million ounces in their vault? A fact which he painstakingly proved. He knew that silver would breakout, because J. P. Morgan had been forced to let go of 30 million ounces, hence leaving them with only 120 million and less ability to "hedge" (short) the market. What you believe is based on empty conjecture and imputing a kind of omnipotent power to the bankers, even the power of conjuring silver out of thin air. The fact is, the silver simply does not and cannot exist.

https://www.cnbc.com/2020/07/29/powell-is-expected-to-say-the-fed-will-keep-doing-whatever-it-can-while-it-considers-its-next-move.html

This is all out in the media and not by mistake. The fact that the St Louis Fed put it on their website now is again another canary. And when you look at the broader environment, what else are they going to do? The debt to GDP is the highest since post-WWII and we can't service it at anything above 0% interests rates...and we're still adding to it massively. Inflating the debt away is really the only choice next to actual default.

Make a case for it going to $1000.

I can objectively look at crypto and see it is speculation, that most of the top coins have years of future growth already priced in. Meanwhile I see little to none actually application. Few moats. And an all powerful central monetary authority that will viciously stomp out any true competitors using government tools.

Subjectively I already don't like the concept of my money being numbers on some bank computer and I see no reason why I would want anything to do with some nightmare unregulated version of that. To say that link is going to go to $1000 is also to state why it wont. Crypto has displayed a massive volatility in real purchasing power thus it is completely unsuitable in its present form as a currency. You show me a currency that actually addresses the volatility and maybe I will get on board with that, but nobody has and nobody will because its all pump and dump scams.

100x for small-caps is normal in a silver bull market. 150x is actually the standard number for small-cap silver miners. But I'm saying 100x to be conservative. By the way, I've pointed out this number dozens of times on this board, but Eric Sprott said it explicitly last Friday that these junior silver small-caps will go 100x (cannot remember the timestamp):

>It decays over time,
I'm aware of the math and mechanics of leveraged etfs. I'll be fine. It's just a small lotto position.

I have a bunch of Liberty bars and rounds that look like the ones on the left and some that look smooth. I think some just have that matte finish.

Go to your local LCS and have them test it. O just ping them against each other and compare the sound to the other bars as well. Silver makes a very specific sound.

some /pmg/ Anon once recommended G2XJ as an alternative for GDXJ for Euros (we got cucked out of foreign ETF in 2018). Do you know if there's some SILJ equivalent like that?

Nice good for you, I managed to grab 2 more 10 oz silver bars from Scottsdale at the bottom yesterday. I love Scottsdale's poured 5 and 20 oz bars and stackers. Excited to get into their 10 oz stacker bars, feel like a retard for not buying a couple kilos in march blew that trying to play options like an idiot, oh well.

I really hope this is true. My only options right now is to buy 1/4oz of gold and 40oz of silver to get a stack of 3oz gold/200oz silver (taking into account additional premiums and taxes on silver, the gold-silver ratio is about 60 for physical where I live), which I intended as a minimum before branching out into stocks, or start buying miners before reaching that amount, out of FOMO. I need more time, goddamit, just one fucking month at least, but the COMEX failure is supposed to be in September.

Potentially not. Never underestimate the amount of horse shit that can happen.
