21336934 No.21336934 [Reply] [Original]

I’m doing my part and pulling 30,000 Stakies off of Livecoin. It’s small in the grand scheme of things but the more of us that do this early, the quicker we moon after DEX launch.
Don’t get Mt. Gox’d, and don’t let exchanges claim to have circulating supply that they don’t.

If you want a non-meme answer, what timeframe are you looking at?
You will eventually make it with one master node (15,000 XSN).
You will make it with five master nodes (75,000) when hydra launches which will be at some point in 2020.
You will make it with ten master nodes (150,000) when raiden launches at some point late this year or early 2021.
If for some reason you can acquire 20+ master nodes right now (300,000), congrats, you make it as soon as we hit $1 XSN and even minor trade volume once the DEX launches at the end of the month.

Your timeframe is just bad. Raiden will be done in a few months. Hydra will take up to 1 year max.

>Raiden will be done in a few months.
That lines up with “late this year.” Hard to believe 2020 has blown by but in six weeks we are in Q4, so I’d say that qualifies as late in the year.
>Hydra will take up to 1 year max.
I meant to say some time in 2021 which would line up with that. I did typo and say 2020 instead so maybe that confused you.

I also plan on buying a nice big house out west in the next 3-5 years and a second property on the beach somewhere in the next 5-10 with my money.

In other words, how does having a million dollars in the next year or two sound?

To be fair, there’s so much shit spammed here it can be hard to even find the threads, let alone not reflexively assume they’re currycoins.
I mean, there are people who actually think Kleros has long term viability just because Gupta spammed it here 80 times daily. That covered up the one XSN thread that would come through every few days.
Not me though, I’m closing in on my fifth master node. Continuing to chip away at livecoin’s supply.

biz i fucked up so badly. i sold intending to buy back, but the price never corrected. had 50 thousand xsn. that's a lot for an alcoholic drug addict. i'd staked 30 thousand of those for a full fucking year - every time i'd receive staking rewards my kitchen laptop would make a satisfying ping noise. they were a part of my life, a cheery little pick-me-up in a world of bleakness and horror.
they're all gone. and i'm going too. i've been an addict for decades, i weigh like an ounce even though i'm over 6ft, my mother has cancer, my liver hurts so much i can't sleep, there are empty blood-smeared vodka bottles and there's broken glass absolutely fucking everywhere and i am in fact eager for it to all just fucking end.
if i had enough xsn to order a gram of smack on a dnm, then as soon as it arrived i'd be gone. i haven't enough. so today i will jump from my roof and the pain will end.

do not sell.
bye.

It doesn’t, but I do want to point out that’s at 2500 nodes and a .2% fee (which it notes at the top).
Whenever we reach true adoption MN count will hover between 3500 and 4500 and the fee right now is actually .25%, it I could see it going down to .1 or .15% in the long run, taking away a few more dollars on trading rewards. So if you want to have a conservative estimate when this takes off, I’d say the trading rewards should be halved from what they are on the chart. That said, that’s still really fucking good. And up front, the rewards WILL be closer to that chart since we’re use shy of 2500 MNs right now and have a .25% fee.

Could I get a quick rundown on why to create a masternode instead of just buying the coin? Or a few links?

yeah fucking sucks buying at these prices, but less so if you unlike me are only just getting onboard now and sold for a pittance beforehand.
anyway yeah iktfb.
>Could I get a quick rundown on why to create a masternode instead of just buying the coin? Or a few links?
well i mean you're rewarded for hosting such a node, like interest payments on your bank balance...
>Also, whats your prefered place to buy XSN?
i think livecoin is still the only way. feels precarious but it has always been legit in my experience.

why are so few here killing themselves with drugs and booze? i'd have though biz would be riddled with coke addicts and the like.

anyway yeah. masternode = monies. livecoin = ok.

Several tutorials, newcomer questions etc. in there but I’ll answer your initial questions here anyway:
>why create a masternode?
A masternode requires 15000 XSN as collateral to run. It’s not an either/or thing, you’re still buying the coin just using it for a specific staking use case. Except master nodes allow you to do much more than stake, you also get rewards from transaction fees on the network and get a vote on governance issues. That said, if you don’t want to lock down the coin as collateral, you can just buy it and stake it as normal. To be honest though, it’s not overly hard to stop running your master node to make your collateral coins “free” again.

As for where to buy, Livecoin is probably the most preferred because it’s non-KYC, but Beaxy lists XSN too. I’ve not used Beaxy and can’t vouch for it. Livecoin has more frequent maintenance periods than larger exchanges but I’ve yet to have any problems with them in terms of withdrawing, trading, or losing coins. Still not wise to keep them on a centralized exchange if you aren’t planning to sell, of course, but that’s not unique to Livecoin.
Soon you’ll be able to buy on the Stakenet Dex, though!

Not really. Orion is still on-chain and still has the same scalability problems that come with it, you still have to wrap tokens before swapping between chains, isn’t Lightning compatible, etc. serum and polkaswap have similar issues.
Because a lot of traders aren’t necessarily interested in how to fix these problems, there is a possibility that all of those things (which are essentially just slightly better Re-skins of uniswap when you get down to it) could jump ahead of Stakenet INITIALLY, but as they run into the same problems as uniswap and anything trying to do swapping on-chain, Stakenet still has yet to have a real competitor there.

ORN is doing the same like Binance DEX, Polkaswap etc etc.
Onchain =less privacy, less speed, never really scalable, you have to trust a new chain and peg / wrap your tokens on a different chain, more blockchain fees
