It’s not even an index fund like everyone keeps saying. Holding STA is holding nothing but STA. If it were an index fund, it’s value would come from its holdings and it would reflect the trends of the holdings. Since it’s just a dime-a-dozen deflationary token thrown in with various other tokens, it can easily go to zero even when the other pool tokens are mooning. Any increase in STA is 100% speculation. Still congrats to any making money off it. I was in early at .005, but got out when I really found out what it is and isn’t. Made decent return but would have been nice to ride the speculation and paid-for hype to .40, but really see no purpose long term.

STA will not continue to gain value....long term. The burn will cause it to become more scarce yes, which would in theory increase its value to hold market cap. However, as the price goes up, people sell, as people sell the price drops, transactions are made and more burned and the price goes up and more people sell, and so on. The token will never keep "going up". It will keep fluctuating mildly as people sell off their profits due to the constant deflation of the token. What is an index fund?

An index fund is a fund that can track and adjust a specified basket of underlying investments. In this case: BTC, ETH, LINK all balanced with STA (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QzNhe5Hd0do)) [Open].

The rules are that these coins are set in a fund at a specified percent so as one goes up or down the others are automatically bought or sold to balance risk and maximize profit. HOWEVER, the key is that STA is deflationary (whenever a STA transaction happens for buying/selling/pooling, 1% of the transaction of STA is burned). You also are given a % of all the fees paid in STA transactions up to 36% APY and during a run up to 40,000% APY (https://medium.com/@stateraproject))

The power of STA is that the ripple effects of: (1) compounded fees/locked/pooled tokens, (2) token burn, (3) price pulled up by ETH, BTC, and LINK leads to an exponential effect and positive feedback loop on price.

Can the team dump? No, this is the most decentralized token. Much like how BTC is out of Satoshi's hands, STA is out of the hands of the devs who only own <4%.

Let’s assume that for one day every cryptocurrency stays flat except ETH. What would happen?

1. The value of Delta will go up and the 50:50 ratio would be out of sync, ETH would need to be sold and STA bought to keep the locked in split. This causes STA to burn

2.The Phoenix fund is 30% ETH and 40% Delta. It would then need to sell both assets and buy wBTC, Link and SNX to keep the predetermined asset weights. So now both Delta and Phoenix are back in balance, but it doesn’t stop here

3.As Phoenix sold Delta there is a negative impact on the price, but the actual quantity of ETH and STA inside of it didn’t change after point 1. As a result, it would be beneficial to unmint Delta to realise the full value of the underlying assets. This unminting process causes STA to burn. Something like this is generally done by arb bots.

4.But now as some STA has been burnt there is upward price pressure and the inverse of point 1 happens. STA is now sold to buy ETH, causing STA to burn. Initially this may not be significant but as supply decreases the impacts of this will get bigger.

5.Point number 4 means that the value of Delta has changed, which means Phoenix needs to sell Delta and so the cycle goes back to point 2
Please note, that the impacts of point 4 and 5 are probably too small to see this early in the project but it doesn’t mean it’s not happening.

Now remember there is zero chance that ETH is the only asset to move in price for the day. THEY WILL ALL MOVE.

Now think how many indices Statera will be putting out on platforms like balancer (yes balancer will not be the only one).

Multiple index funds on multiple platforms with different pools using the Delta coin.

STA will be the most used coin in Defi soon.

------------

TL:DR

In simple terms the Burn function of STA is designed to create volume. In a way Statera discovered "Volume farming"

The STA token is the stabalizer for all the indexs and pools.

We are literally just at the start of this journey.

"This is just the beginning of the ecosystem. More funds will be implemented to give options to all investors (Exchange Token Fund, Layer 2 Solutions Fund, Social Networking Fund, Lending Fund, etc.).

With these focus on specific sections of the cryptocurrency landscape, investors can choose specific areas to invest in more heavily than others. These will be chosen by the Statera Core Team (a group of community members that helps with the initial direction of Statera) and will be called our “White Label Funds.” However, we have already seen our community make their own pools and add in Statera Delta.

These “Community Funds” will help the ecosystem grow and make the value proposition of Statera that much clearer to all investors."

Think of all the pools and new platforms. Think of all the Delta and STA tokens used in each pool on many different platforms. And then think of the utility of STA. My God...STA will be the most used token in Defi. Literally the BTC of Defi.

Statera creates cryptocurrency index funds that are decentralized and catalyzed
through an immutable deflationary smart contract. It can be included in multiple
index funds to increase their value while increasing its own token value. Instead
of traditional index funds, where you are charged a fee, since the index fund is
used to provide liquidity to exchanges, the holder is paid the fees, earning more
capital on their investments (what equates to 38%-500% APY depending on the
daily volume). Statera’s deflationary mechanism increases volume (trades and
arbitrage), which increases the rebalances and, in turn, the fees paid to the user.
Statera benefits the markets it is in, by facilitating more efficient market making,
matching buyers to sellers. The ecosystem is fully decentralized and owned by
the community. The future of Statera is bright. Not only does it create its own
ecosystem, but it also can be used by other ecosystems to instantly introduce
sound monetary policy into their platform (loans, NFTs, banking, commerce,
any investment instrument, currencies, etc.). This expansion increases the value
proposition of the token. With this value proposition Statera can position itself to
become the world’s first “global deflationary currency.” The Statera Token gives
users one token access to the price action of the entire DeFi suite of products it
creates and is included in.

Establishment of a Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO): A Statera
DAO could be developed, where the parts of the ecosystem are more centralized
and controllable by the community. The Statera token is fully decentralized and
nothing can happen to it (if a DAO is created, the original STA will continue
to provide value and be its own entity). There could be the creation of a new
token that is either airdropped to current users or completely new. With this
token the community can vote on next steps, determine the use of funds,
determine future tokenomics, and so on.
11. Inclusion on traditional investing platforms: Many platforms (like Grayscale
and TD Ameritrade) have brought investing in digital assets to the masses.
Our goal is to have Statera and/or its funds available on these platforms also.
Our unique and revolutionary value proposition of being a “Deflationary Index
Fund” is the one we want to see available to every investor, everywhere.
12. Establishment as a currency: As the utility, trust, and network of Statera builds,
we can shift towards being used as a deflationary currency, bringing all of the
benefits of sound monetary policy from investment vehicles to currency.
13. Fiat on and off ramps: Create direct and easy channels for converting fiat to
Statera or Statera funds.
14. Second Layer Platform: Create a platform of our own to ease the buying and
using of Statera products

>He still doesnt own any STA
Statera has come about at a perfect moment. As we look around, all we see is
inflation and the devaluing of assets. Statera is designed from the ground up to
hold and create value. Through its mechanisms it reduces volatility, increases
positive price pressure, and increases incentives to holding it (fees, rewards
paid, and reductions in supply). STA’s current iteration is only the beginning, the
goal is to become synonymous in DeFi, cryptocurrency investing, index funds,
and all financial instruments. We have created a completely new and unheard of
asset class, “Deflationary Index Funds.” We hope this is only the beginning on
our way to being another unheard-of asset class, “Immutable Global Deflationary
Currency.” The value proposition of what we have is immeasurable, the future of
it is unimaginable. STA is a new wave of decentralization. It is a decentralized
platform that is now fully and immutably owned by the community. It is up to our
community how far we go. We will be talked about, we will be replicated, we will
change the world.

I don’t think you know what’s going to happen anon.

The devs had huge amounts of liq in original pool - they were shaving profits and adding liquidity to get it jump started, based Jonathan had like 150 eth in, many others who believed in the project pooled early.

Here is what I think will happen, refund hits - ppl who pooled the STA given is going to be hodl’d / added to stacks, other 4 coins will be thrown back into balancer, it will skyrocket over a million.

Then ppl will really start to fomo, many got large bags cheap, $1 and around is going to be brutal for next few months end of oct weak hands shaken out, balancer continues to rise. $1.50-$2 EOY, we take #1 balancer pool by value and volume early 2021.

If your scared of crashes this is the exact reason you buy more STA and pool it in delta and Phoenix index fund.

The STA token is continuing continually utilized to maintain ratio of the fund. In doing so your portfolios downside is limited.

I wish people would take the time to read the whitepaper.

STA is part of the index or any future index. Uts also used to maintain the ratio of the assets. It is Defi for a reason. The function literally cuts out humans that woumd usually buy and sell assets to maintain ratios of index funds.
