Looking at a cheap car that I really like, being offered 8k at a dealership. Currently have 10k in crypto no debts, job brings me 44k a year. I hate my current car with a passion though I own it outright. Should I take the loan? I really love this car.

You should watch the bit that Sam Hyde and Nick Rochefort have on buying a car. It's a terrible investment nearly 100% of the time. You sound like a nigger or a woman

This. Buying cars at dealer is like buying physical video games. They depreciate in value immediately upon use. Plus your paying interest on top of that? Don't be a retard. If you love the model so much just look for it 2nd hand and learn some barting skills.

>> No.21290777

I think these anons are being unrealistic.

I think it is admirable that you are focusing on a 8k car.
If you have good credit and can get a loan at 1.99 or 2.99%, I don’t think it’s a bad deal.

Put down as much as you think you can afford and make sure that you have a realistic plan to pay the vehicle off in a reasonable time frame.

Will you also be able to sell or trade in your current vehicle for at least 2k? If so, even better.

Tbh anon if you hate your car and it is not comfortable to drive in or not practice for your life style, I think it is worth it as long as you are confident you will be super stoked on the car.

Make sure it does not have any mechanical issues if you can and a dealer warranty sweetens the deal even more.

I personally like old Subaru foresters. They look really good, run forever, reliable, affordable, etc.

Good luck anon.
What type of car U looking at?

Imagine paying more than $3k for a fucking car lmfao

>> No.21290827

Anons above are literally regarded cause they don’t realize you are ALREADY looking at used cars, which don’t have nearly the same depreciation as a new car.

if it's what you need to continue making money then probably go for it
do shop around for other vehicles first though for lower prices
also things like quality of life can be worth it, but there's usually diminishing returns
go ask /o/ if it's a good car to get

As long as you get a good deal on a loan and don't come out of pocket for a downpayment, I don't see why not. I'd ask yourself if, 3 months down the road, you'd prefer having the newer car and what you paid for it, rather than the old car and extra money

thanks anon toyota mr2
I've already test driven it, and even if my holdings went to a crazy 100k I wouldn't trade it for anything.

I'm looking only at used cars, mileage is at 80k.
I have about 1.3k saved for a downpayment.

Sounds good anon I think you should go for it. It’s good to treat yourself WITHIN REASON.
Nothing wrong with having a cheap ass car but there is something wrong with having a cheap as car that you fucking hate. I hated my GFs car so I know the feel. So did she. She just replaced it and it’s amazing.

I bought my car for $2500 cash on craigslist. It's 20 years old and I change the oil myself every 3 months. Insurance costs peanuts, especially when paid in 6 month increments. It reliably gets me from point a from point b, a tank of gas goes 600 miles, nobody wants to steal it, and I have $100k in crypto. I'm going to make it. You sound like a bitch.

No, you are a fucking idiot if you do this. Keep your current car until it fucking breaks down forever and not a second less. Cars are depreciating assets, do not waste your future on stupid consumerism. Keep that shit tucked away and use it to make more money. Material possessions are worthless, save your money to buy your future freedom from wageslavery.

In 2017 I almost was convinced by my Boomer dad to buy a car with 10k I saved up. Instead I kept my $700 piece of shit that still runs today and turned my 10k in 6 figures. Don't fuck this up.

This. Don't do it OP. This is the reason the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. The rich save and invest their money, but the poor waste all of their money on stupid shit like cars they don't need.

Yes take the loan. You need to credit somehow and this is a great way to do it. Even if you drive the car for two years and sell it for $4000 it's worth doing it. You could lose your crypto at any given moment and you've most likely made gains so you know 4K isn't much. Money should be used as a tool to make your life better. This car will make your life better. The anons telling you buying a car for any other reason then getting from point A to point B are the same anons who eat dog food to save money. You work hard and have been so you should have something to show for it. If anything tell yourself you're buying the car just to build credit if have to. What type of car is it? Im about to take some profits and buy a 2010 Camaro myself.

Just keep your toyota. Take out a loan on it. And dump it into crypto. You will be able to buy a lambo EOY if you do it right.

>> No.21292317

>>21291161
My personal advice to you would be to look for one with more mileage. The MR2s are just regular Toyotas with the drivetrain on the other side of the car (and that's a good thing, probably going to be the next car I pick up). They're not too hard to work on, and regardless of which generation it is, most repairs that it is likely to need can be done yourself. If you're looking at the black spyder in the Carolinas don't buy it its a piece of shit lol. I see good ones for around 5k on faceberg market quite often, just keep your eyes open.
