Can someone explain to me how exactly silver was supposedly manipulated via futures? Even if big institutions paper traded it and had to sell to roll forward the futures, if the industrial need was always there, someone always took the physical deliveries right? So I don't understand this. Why is it different now?

ETFs in the modern age are abominations of speculating and wealth creation. but it isn’t a zero sum game and the paper gains far far out weigh the physical actualities. someone called like a bil to be delivered in physical recently on COMEX. We are seeing those effects now. US slept on silver in early 00s and almost got fucked when it broke the short and pushed $50. Now jPmorgan is the biggest physical silver holder in the world. new standard coming.
