Please help frens. Can anyone point me to some resources that will help me better at picking and trading cryptos? I've made really bad choices and just want to get better at this but I'm not technologically smart enough to know what different projects actually do. If I buy into something /biz/ talks about, it dumps and everyone calls me retarded. If I sell something, everyone calls me retarded. If I don't invest in anything at all, everyone calls me retarded. I just need direction on where to look. It feels like people are a part of a secret club and I'm just left on the outside completely dumbfounded.

Well that’s the thing being here. But you should have known when it is a bad time to buy in by now. Shitcoins that have gone up by +20% in one day are risky buying into. Wait for consolidation and carefully buy in piece by piece of your stack. Don’t go all in immediately.

>>21075242
Actually no. All I can say is just be on the lookout of what is trash or blatant ponzi schemes. All deflationary tokens are scams. Also find out what a project is backed by. If it’s memes, it’s a massive risk. If it’s intended to improve the Ethereum ecosystem, go for it. If the project has a GitHub and the repositories are frequently committed to, it’s a good sign that it’s a serious project.

Also pay attention to the chart. If it has flatlined to ATL for years, it’s a bad sign. Be on the lookout for volume too. Low volume means low liquidity and thus it’s easy to get JUSTed and dumped on.

>> No.21075646

>>21075514
Thanks, this is very helpful. I've been going all in immediately, that could explain why I get dumped on almost always after buying. I don't know why this didn't click but makes perfect sense. I'm down a total of 10k right now because of this and because I accidentally market bought something on KuCoin and ended up paying 80% more than I intended to.

How do I check volume on something? I see people talking about it but am not entirely sure how to do it in crypto. Do oyu have any resources on how to read crypto graphs? I've heard TA is stupid as fuck but apparently it helps sometimes.

scott melker twitter free podcasts about crypto in general. then you need to read by yourself about projects, ask yourself if thats a good idea realistically.

crypto is still gamble tho. better to cash out earlier than hope for a big 10X pump on every purchase you make.

also if in doubt on this board, ask for timestamped pic of hand. no pic - no buy.

either a shitskin shill getting paid, or some fuckin schizo retard.

i will be researching/searching for new coins, and i will most likely devils advocate here on chan that this project is useless to see counter arguments and level of discussion.

You can check the volumes traded on each exchange on Coingecko. Just be aware and careful with exchanges as some participate in wash trading which creates artificial volume. Those are often singeled out. Read reviews on them and how fishy they are.

As for charts, I really only look at bullish/bearish pendants, ascending/descending wedge, ascending/descending triangle and (inverse) head and shoulder. Figure out when these patterns are broken. Sometimes you gotta draw lines to see them but I can see them mostly with my eyes.
I’m no daytrader, I’m just using these to find good entries and also see if we’re heading for a bullish scenario.

Also the greatest tip I can give: if you are not an experienced trader, NEVER SWING

Moral of the story? No matter what you do, someone on here will criticize it harshly. A lot of us have been buying chainlink since it was under .20 and the entire time there has been an angry mob of nolinkers that sit around calling us stupid all day every day. Turns out they were the real idiots

Swinging is selling at the top and rebuying lower making you accumulate more coins. 99/100 cases here it ends up with the swinger losing coins because it pumps immediately after they sell.

And no worries fren. The greatest advice is simply not being a retard and maintaining self control. Don’t let emotions get over your common sense. Don’t look at pumped charts and think “oh damn I’m missing out!”
Look for a good opportunity to enter. That is usually days after you first look at the pumped graph. With BUIDL, it went to $2.6 a week ago from under $1, but after a few days it went under $2. That’s where one should buy. Things usually dump much more than what one might think.

Good luck fren. I hope I taught you well

>familiarity with basic CS and software development concepts

I think most people just literally gamble on shitcoins they have no idea how the underlying tech works. That's why anons shilled link so hard early on, it actually solves a real technical problem and they recognized it.

Even once you know those things, you need to know who's on the team, what companies are investing into their project if any, and decide if you think their product has potential to take off

>> No.21077631

Most of the time that you see a thread or post on /biz/ they want to manipulate you in to buying or selling so they gain the benefit.

Shit like BRR, Tendies, Asuka, whatever are legitimate MEMES that have no groundwork or foundation to build on - the price is pumped by people buying the token and by the total supply being reduced. They add nothing and once the creator has had their fun they close shop and take the profits.

Look for promising projects and read their website, whitepaper, join the discord and telegram and lurk for a few days. Get the newest information on the project about announcements and buy before shit is announced.

Look at Menlo ONE, NOIA, Link, BZX, Libertas, Dether, MITX, AERGO

you're welcome

As far as I can tell. The issue is getting people to use it. The idea is that when a bunch of normies hop on the crypto hype train they'll flock to shit like Dether and give it a practical use. People like us don't really need it but the average normie would want it, ya know? It's a promising concept and as long as it gains popularity its a surefire profit.

I didn't say AERGO because its pumping right now, I said it because its a promising project. These are more mid-long term holds. Specifically on the topic of AERGO:

>lots of holders (4700)
>relatively low mcap (11.6m)
>relatively low average daily trade volume
>great idea, active and devoted team

So you watch the market, wait for a dip, buy the dip, and either sell when it pumps or hold for the mid-long term because the damn thing is $0.04 and will probably do a 10x within 12-18 months
