It finally happened bros, I got 10k in my investment account.
Felt weird to hold on to TSM after the pump but I'm thinking it's long term. Didn't take profits on my INTC when it was up and felt terrible to sell after the disastrous announcement, but in hindsight selling and switching out for QCOM was a good move.
My ABBV hasn't done shit for a few weeks, might do something with it I'm up 50% about.

You can in a bull market, outside of one you're going to get fucked because leveraged ETFs decay at a faster rate so you'll lose money even when QQQ is just going sideways.

No one truly knows if tech is going to be a bull market over the next decade so if you buy TQQQ, you're not really investing, you're speculating, and that is why most people will tell you to stay away from it. It's high risk, high reward. My suggestion is that if you do buy it, sell half of your shares if you get a 100% return and put the rest into something safer.

There is literally no leveraged ETF on the planet that has had more consistent returns in both a bull and bear market than TQQQ. Its more volatile cousins of SOXL and FNGU are close.

Lordstown Motors makes shitty commercial pickup trucks for use in fleets, they won't have much mass market appeal because their range is terrible.

Workhorse makes electric mail trucks and owns 10% of Lordstown. Workhorse has a relatively high chance of winning a USPS contract worth billions.

in simple terms can someone explain the Intel sell-off recently? I am just learning options and TA and as soon as Intel dipped hard I bought some calls, seeing that the RSI was pretty low, but no one really bought up enough "cheap" Intel, and the dude that sold me the call is laughing his way to the bank now.

on the flip side, had I bought the call that morning and sold later in the day, I would have made a little money, since enough people DID buy up the "cheap" INTC, resulting is a bit of a price bump

INTC basically admitted that it will tread water for three years and its competitors will eat up its marketshare.
It's unheard-of, I mean the only way for a company that had 99% of the server market to lose its position would be from regulatory actions or literally sitting on its ass for a few years and let its competitors catch up, and it seems that INTC chose the latter.

Promise on what fronts? I can easily refute anything you say about the company, although at this point I probably shouldn't say anything because you deserve to lose your money for being stupid enough to believe retards pumping their stock and you're unable to do any real research on it.

Both NKLA and SPCE have prototypes, "legit" backing, and some technology. What they don't have is a profitable business model or technology that will actually be worth anything in the future. Hydrogen fuel cells are as big as a meme as suborbital space 'tourism'. In reality what Virgin is trying to sell is a thrill ride where you spend hundreds of thousands of dollars to spend a few minutes in something that is barely classified as space.

Trevor Milton has almost the same amount of money as Branson. Both companies have no real revenue or profit and exist solely because of speculation from idiots. SPCE has a CEO with zero experience in spaceflight and hiring exNASA employees doesn't get you anywhere and if it did, Boeing would be the leader in spaceflight. Vertical integration in this context is just a meme, they build their prototypes in house like literally every other company in the space. If they could buy their planes so could any competitor.
>working produce
This is the most stupid part of your post. They have a product that kind of works when it's not killing test pilots, but it's not a profitable one. It will take years at max capacity to turn a profit even if they can find tens of thousands of people willing to pay much more than 250k to visit the edge of space for ten minutes. They realized that they couldn't be profitable at 250k per seat so that's going to get raised.

Virgin Galactic has never reached orbit. They have zero ability to send people to orbit. There's not going to be any space hotel trips or other bullshit from them. You're a fool for believing that they have that ability when SpaceShipTwo is clearly suborbital and they never denied it. They're selling thrill rides that will cost hundreds of thousands, if not millions of dollars.

Spoilers:
They won't. WKHS isn't a bad company, it just very limited because the delivery truck market is tiny and super competitive. At 20 billion in market cap they would be bigger than the delivery truck market.

Brainlet here with question for fellow optionfags. I have purchased 4 DB calls (strike 5 expiring in Jan 21 '22). They are already ITM. I plan to hold them till expiration, but I was wondering If I could write short term calls agains them (and would roll them to further expiration if DB went up) to earn some extra monies. Basically what I'm asking is that if I can do covered call using options only and if so, how is this strategy called, so I can read more about it? Thanks

It's a 6 billion dollar contract to build as many as 180,000 delivery vans so WKHS will probably pump if they get some of it unless it's already priced in. EVs are superior in this application for a number of reasons so I would be very surprised if they don't get any of it.

I think the greater issue is that they may not be able to turn billions of dollars in revenue into much profit and it may not be enough to justify a high market cap. This sector has been very competitive with low margins, there's going to be a lot more growth in other EV sectors like passenger cars.

I dunno if a 20x is realistic, but you're still looking at them conquering a large portion of the sector if they play their cards right. They're currently the only entrant in the C2/C3 market, they're CA CARB certified meaning that their customers get a huge subsidy for buying. They're also covered by the EV tax subsidy from the government, $7k up to 200k vehicles. Their LMT deal entitles them $520+ per unit up to 200k units (that's the 1% sales), that adds up to $104m. On top of that their share of the facilities is valued at $1bn (by analysts...). WKHS is also entitled to 1% of any debt or equity financing from LMT. Then there's their fat dick moat, their CFO indicated competitors are at least 1 year behind, possibly 2 due to certification caveats which WKHS has already completed. I imagine they'll be catching some political tailwinds as well, but that's yet to be seen.

But also, there has been a lot of market aberrations, so who the fuck knows?

Most smallsat launch platforms are already obsolete because of ride share with Falcon 9 which is dirt cheap because they're constantly launching Starlink sats. The only issue is that you may not be able to get the right inclination which in that case you would probably go with Rocket Lab instead of Virgin Galactic because using a jet as a first stage is an inefficient meme when you could just have a real first stage. I'm sure their pricing will not be as good even if they manage to get it to stop blowing up.

Eventually all of the smallsat launch market is going to get replaced because you'll be able to get a tug that will put your satellite wherever you want it after you use ride share to get into orbit. They can't complete with such low prices. Starship is going to ruin all these companies, even Rocket Lab.

Interesting. My main concern is that their profit margin may not be high enough to justify their market cap and their growth may stagnate if they refuse to move into vehicles outside of delivery trucks. It's a really saturated market because there isn't a large barrier to entry, you don't need good battery technology because the range can be low and you don't need good self driving technology because most companies are unwilling to pay for it and would rather their drivers do the work, not realizing how much they would save if they had autopilot and prevented more accidents. The trucks are bare bones. This coupled with relatively low production numbers means there's no real moat and it's a race to the bottom, whoever produces the cheapest truck can win government contracts.

Personally, I'll probably sell after the contract is announced. I have some DPHC as well but I don't like LMT and I think their truck won't be that successful. Just mostly hoping to catch a pump.

OH FUGGG

I’ve really been wanting to buy AMAT and get more into TSMC now that amd has already mooned, but I’m getting the sense that maybe I should just buy amd and hold and stop watching the market for a few years.

Of course I can’t do that last part, but you get the idea. All this M&A is a strong indicator that a bottom was put in, and I’m still 40% cash and wayyyyy too diversified.

But MU could also double in the next 3 years or so...

The moat is based on paperwork, they're the only C2/C3 EV legally operable on US roads. There's also their drone segment, which is interesting but I wonder how practical it actually is, though it does make a good deal of sense in a rural area. That's another moat and another market.

We'll see.

Rural deliveries does make more sense. I think they'll be unable to improve the speed of their drone deliveries to the point where it will be faster than someone walking in most situations. It seems more marketing than anything at this point and I don't think WKHS has the chops to break through on drone technology. I don't think they would have a moat there because they would be competing with Chinese knockoffs unless they write something into their truck contract.
