Don't worry, my first exchange was CB as well. I moved to Kraken about a month later. Fees to transfer from wallet to wallet are small. They are not nearly as much as exchanging between coins.

Exchanges are like whores. Binance, Bitmex, Okex are bottom barrel sluts for getting degen gains. Exchanges like Coinbase, Kraken, and Gemini are only for sending money to and from your bank account. They have high fees, low leverage limits, and low liquidity.
