I was 35 in 2009 with $0 in savings. I learned to code by myself and sent around 100 applications per day until I finally got a job. Then moved up to a couple of decent jobs with over $100K pay and 7-17% 401K matching, HSAs. Now I have a paid off townhome worth $200K plus a little over $500K in retirement accounts, $50K in taxable and $25K in crypto. I made around $100K in the 2017 crypto boom. Also recently only invest in tech/growth stocks. If I did that from 2015, I would have a couple million. Just spend your nights learning coding/tech/linux/cloud/security. It's really not rocket science and will be worth it in a few years.

I kept crypto about 5% of my investments in 2017. It ballooned up to 20%. In my 401K I have growth tech mutual funds now. In my Roth IRA I have mostly FANG stocks, TSLA, SQ and ARK etfs managed by Kathy Woods which try to pick out the next FANG type growth companies and I also have WCLD. I do own a couple of Chinese stocks Alibaba and Tencent. Last month started some positions in GLD and SLV. In crypto it's mostly BTC and some ETH. I made a momentum play in Nano in 2017 where my biggest gain was for the least amount of money invested so I am on the lookout for shitcoins if there is another bull run
