Current yield on yvault is 46.31% for usdc.
Yvault automated yield farming for poorfags (currently bal I think). Very low gas cost due to protocol buffer (the system accumulates small deposits and only deposits bigger sums in the underlying protocol).
This can be all done manually but the gas fee for the whole operation can approach $100

Don't sleep on yearn & yfi this is going to be one of the biggest defi dapps

The 13.9% yield is the yield on YFI itself (in dollars), it's income from fees paid by platform users.

Okay so whats the catch? Why are they able to return me 110% of my initial USD investment consistently?

>> No.20759059

>>20758983
there's no catch, there's a defi token bubble and people are farming COMP, BAL and MTA (probably others, those three are the biggest). You get them for borrowing/lending on compound, providing liquidity on balancer and providing liquidity for musd on balancer, respectively.
If you sell them that's the actual APR you get. I'm farming COMP for a month now, made about 3% in a month on my eth, ie. about 36%
stablecoins give higher returns

APR of course

for non-dai stablecoins BAL farming was better I was getting between 40-50% APR

Can you explain why a coin like MTA gains value if people are just farming it and selling it?
Not quite sure I understand what's going on here

>> No.20759264

Mta gives supposedly is going to give a share of mstable's fees, but I think it's ridiculously overvalued. BAL is worthless.
It doesn't matter, people just buy them because 'defi' without much thought. Sell them and be happy some idiot is giving you money for free shit

yvault automates that because currently you need at least $20k for gas fees to make sense

Does buying yfi on uniswap actually make sense? I still can’t figure out why this coin has value. Is it because it gives you a share of the fees? That being said I’m all in.

I think YFI has potential to be in the top 10. Farmers who were going to dump probably already did, so it could moon even in the short term.
I personally farmed a double digit amount and I'm not selling any time soon. Unless I get cancer or something I guess
>I still can’t figure out why this coin has value. Is it because it gives you a share of the fees?
Yes that 13.9% is on YFI it's like a stock dividend. It's also a governance token. It's literally a share in yearn. For a stock 13.9% is a very good dividend yield, especially as yearn can easily grow 10x or even 100x

It will be a 10-figure coin, possibly 11-figures
Barely anyone understands this yet
