That awkward moment when even having 25% XOM and 25% LMT in your portfolio still outperforms SPY by a hefty margin just because you have MSFT and CSCO in there as well (aka early 2000s QQQ) and it holds up all the way through the 2008 financial crisis, even better than 100% QQQ.

Adding on, check out how stable this folio is through the .com bubble burst and the 2008 financial crisis.

People say diversifying is a meme but it's still okay to lean heavily into tech while also protecting yourself against downsides by going into tried-and-true defense ($LMT) and oil powerhouses ($XOM, no - not Enron).

Of course, this doesn't mean you should go into meme tech like Uber or Snap. This means you go into hardware ($AMD, $INTC, $TSM, $NVDA), infra ($MSFT, $CSCO, $V, $MA) and consumer focus ($AAPL, $AMZN).

WHY YES I DID BUY THE INTC DIP HOW CAN YOU TELL?

>> No.20688164

I bought lots of MSFT at 200. Long Term entry point obviously. Just glad it's past q2 earnings and will move with market now, plus a very solid long term chance play (5-10+ years)

At this point I think long-term trends are the best to trade around. As the short term is fubar predictable.

I think tech deserves the higher multiple given everything happening. The USA corona-virus cases are finally plateauing and deaths should follow.

Im not a fan of rotating into non-tech stocks even if we see a sudden impulse of demand post vaccine/ disease scare. In fact I see every drop as a chance to buy in more tech for the long haul.

Strategy now is just to accumulate tech and hold for 5+ years since I hit it big in coronavirus event. Now I focus on gradually reducing risk and go into the best long-term plays with as much odds on their side.

Of course highly valued right now. You have a few signposts ahead. There might be more rotation out to "value" (trash) on cure/vaccine/herd immunity hopes. There also might be simple valuation pullbacks as we saw last week.

I think the macro factors such as asset inflation are already affecting them in a predictive manner and via more people taking out leverage.

The thing is the macro factors should slowly push them higher and higher on a long term basis from here. Fed is pretty clear on not raising and continuing support. Election will be short term volatility but I think the massive stimulus a big D wins will only increase the multiple on such stocks and weaken the dollar.

In summary. I think the easiest and clearest play is to be a long-term investor in technology and playing for inflation/stimulus not ending.

It's not really pre-cope. Just explaining why I can continue to buy in at these valuations. I've been in tech since mid march and bought in increasingly high leverage through june via lots of calls.

At this point I'm more simple leverage and long-term. I don't think calls or non-long term plays in tech are great even if you have slight odds, but the long term dynamics will reward people in the high quality tech stocks especially if you have a high mix of semis.

don't be baited by INTC's low PE ratios, its future prospects are absolute shit right now unless you want to gamble short-term on a deadcat bounce.
Their future prospects look very dim right now unless you have insider information that they're going to get help from a third-party (some analysts are even speculating that Intel could even start getting chips from TSM as ridiculous as that sounds) just so they can catch up and stop bleeding server market share to AMD.
expose yourself to other tech stocks like MFST or AAPL. Just focusing on manufacturers is not good because margins are smaller.

Yes this is why value is such a meme and P/E isn’t a reliable measure of valuation. High P/E often means the market “believes” in the future of a company, low P/E often means the market sees a company with little to no future.

The market was right about INTC and ViacomCBS. Looks like it was right about AMD and NVDA too, not that they won’t pull back.

Even Intel is a better pick than those garbage because at least Intel still does have some momentum and it really just needs to get its shit together (BUT IT CONTINUES NOT TO GET ITS SHIT TOGETHER AFTER TWO FUCKING YEARS).
Like the last resort is if it just relies on TSM for chips, suddenly they're back on a stalemate with AMD instead of a losing battle. I think it's just stubborn pricde with intel, they've been complacement for too fucking long and they don't know how to adapt even if it's so fucking obvious.

That said, TSM won't easily agree to supplying chips to Intel if they can't guarantee a long-term deal, not just a patchwork deal until Intel gets its own fab caught up. Expanding capacity ain't cheap after all. There's huge speculation potential between Intel and whatever third-party company they end up choosing to collaborate with.

i mean intel wouldn't be retarded enough to just keep bruteforcing through their issues alone and potentially hit even more delay, right? Heck if it drops another 10% or 20% even I might be tempted enough to gamble into Intel no matter how backwards I think they are **currently**.

What massed produced open source ICE exists? All manufacturers have impeded your ability to work on and modify your car, which is why they don't make the service manuals readily available and create a bunch of parts that need special tools in order to be replaced. Don't even get me started on how hard it is to change out computers without going to the dealership to get it reflashed. The difference with Tesla is that EVs require less work in the first place since they have fewer moving parts and that they're not profiting from working on your car, they do it at cost unlike the dealership model which is their main source of income. Tesla actually cares about safety and they don't want anyone fucking up their car because the short sellers will have a field day with it.

This is what the big colleges are really selling. They are selling this image of a carefree life where you can make friends and have new freedoms.

I’m willing to bet over 50% of all college students today aren’t taking any serious programs. I was a loser in Highschool and had terrible grades. I still went to community college to pretend like I was doing something with my life.

I’m older now and returned to community college to take an electrical technician course that is actually useful and in demand.

This is the college life that everyone wants. You can go to Harvard and get a 4 year degree in bullshit. You can easily pass if you show up to class and turn all your assignments in. The liberal arts courses are not tough and the teachers will pass you if you attend.

They have the legal power to do it. It wasn't your car, it was the car of someone else that fell off a cliff, the insurance company wrote it off, and you decided to buy it from them because you didn't want to pay full price for a functioning Tesla. This is common with salvaged vehicles, often you have to go to the state to get them recertified. If it wasn't written off, it wouldn't have a salvaged title and Tesla wouldn't have taken away your ability to supercharge regardless of what happened to it.
>Tesla shill
How am I a shill? I'm telling you not to buy a salvaged Tesla because they're too complex to easily repair and you're going to pay more than it's worth. If you bought the car from Tesla, there's no situation where they would deactivate your features.

It's not unlimited, it's safety specific. If they disabled supercharging on a non-salvaged car you could easily sue them and win.

Stop losses are good practice regardless of what you think about a stock. I don't think Tesla will drop below $1000, I think it's only going to get more overvalued by traditional measures. Look at how many people here cry about TSLA being overvalued and then say shit like they would buy it at $800 which would still be ridiculously overvalued by their standards.

Wrong one. Their 2024 forward PE is around 50. That's reasonable for a company growing 40-50% each year.

Why not invest in something that's safer like grocery and grocery accessories?

What I have been dabbling in are: UNFI, SFM, COST, KR, ACI.

I really like UNFI and ACI; the latter being a total surprise. I thought it was public the whole time; did not know it IPO'd just last month. Are there any other good choices in this sector?

None of these protestors or antifa have stomach for an actual civil war and what it entails. This is merely emotional shit and watching too many hollywood movies about uprisings.

Actually getting droned and having black helicopters gunning down you and your friends isnt' something any American civilian is going to fight through. It's just surface level acting and identity. They aren't actually revolutionary by tagging some walls.

I know, one clip that stuck with me was a hysterical black woman who couldn't process the idea that the cops would let them go so far. "Why are you letting us do this?". And the answer is that they would much rather let the ghetto burn itself out than allow it to spread to something important, like an armory or a media center like CNN. Which is why you saw them send in a massive wall of troops to protect specifically CNN and the police precinct. The rioters taking the Minneapolis precinct was a scary moment.

People aren't hungry enough yet for a revolution but this is the worst the real economy has been since the Great Depression. There is a non-zero chance of an actual revolt in the United States as the level of wealth inequality rises. Probably sponsored by China and Maoist, loyal to the CCP, run by blacks.

Yes, the elite though stupid as fuck are slowly all coming round to the fact if China gains dominance they won't believe in human rights or globalism. They will "harmonize" the western elites if they gain power just like with Tibet and Xinjiang. Keep in mind chinese actions so far have been done under pressure of global press. Once they have an upper hand they will will be even more brutal with opponents.

It won't be handshakes and "well you get economic advantage" when China wins. It will just be China and nothing else left.
