Chainlink, a token so you can tell the weather to a computer. Yep, that's what this token actually does. It allows you to send the weather or the temperature to blockchain. Are you going to spend $7.42 USD to tell the weather to a computer?

"Oracles provide external data (e.g. temperature, weather) that trigger smart contract executions upon the fulfillment of predefined conditions."
--from coinmarket cap

It's takes a while to peel through the gibberish to actually understand what this token does, but this is what you're buying. A token to tell the weather. But what you're really buying is the illusion/dream that you will "make it". I hope for your sake that you do.

You're oversimplifying things. It's a decentralized oracle that uses trustless execution of smartcontract agreements between a user to look up external data from an api on a computer such as the price of tea in China or the spot price of gold and then it quickly relays this information in a sybil resistant manner using mixicles and off chain processing which is vrf guaranteed and encrypted to prevent outside or inside parties from knowing or trusting what data is being sent or received or who requested or sent it or how said data is being used in the event it is modified somehow for the purposes it was requested to be modified and then puts this information back into the smartcontract. It's not easy to look up the price of something on a computer because your computer could be wrong. How can you trust that the price on your screen is the actual price? You query the website but your computer could show the wrong price. Chainlink will show the right price because it has a four generals problem simulation scenario built in to determine with high accuracy and quantum aggregation of data feeds to deterministically display to end users. I think it's going to go over $1k because I own one of the top 1,000 wallets.

Oversimplification obscures and obfuscates any potential points and ideas one may be trying to express by preventing any of the crucial though not immediately salient beneficial effects of the utilization of whatever is being discussed. .......... My intention should be obvious here to anyone who has the slightest familiarity with blockchain technology and interconnected networks......... I simply want to set the record straight.. A simple app can tell the price of the weather to a computer..... .. In case you haven't noticed that's what is occurring any time you go to weather.... com.. If that was all chainlink did it would be unbelievable that the blockchain agnostic oracle solution managed to reach such a valuation as it has............ . A cursory glance would suggest that it must do more than this, and anything beyond would confirm that multiple times over... Why did the team bother to acquire towncrier if they were just copy pasting from weather........com? Ask yourself this and other questions then seek the answers to these questions...... What you will find is what chainlink purports to do and you will be ecstatic to have an opportunity to purchase any amount of the circulating tokens for less than $100..........00, and will quickly realize it's a steal at even $1,000.....00 a token....... I love chainlink and don't like seeing it dismissed with such blatant lies disguised by oversimplified chicanery...

Because you need the data source on your dapp, a centralised source could be compromised (or not free, i. e. directly from a financial institution ).

Other things luke the result if a sports match has no dedicated provider.
And if some sports website did make an API to provide the data, it would either cost of you could have the risk of it being fraudulent and or compromised.

Imagine you run a multimillion dollar betting business, and you source the results of sports matches so your whole system is fully automated. A single compromised data source could result in you awarding the money to the wrong parties.

How would you enforce the contract? If you are providing the data that means the other party not only has to trust you, but also your source. Sounds like an old fashioned contract where both parties have to agree. Chainlink circumvents this problem by making everything happen automatically. Neither party has to agree, it #justwerks. I don't know how many times a week you deal with contracts but it quickly adds up to tens of millions of dollars a year just in costs from middle men such as yourself in the scenario you gave, the other parties representative, lawyers for each side, and costs to ensure that the contracts terms are being upheld. That's the whole problem with contracts before chainlink. Even when everyone agrees and it goes smoothly either party can breach the contract. With chainlink it is absolute and deterministic. You can't breach the contract no matter how hard you try, and to judge can stop it. Kind of scary in a way but that's why you read through it once before signing. Beats the hell out of reading each revision, then reading again while taking notes to show how it was breached in a court proceeding and hoping the court rules favorably to uphold the contract and awards damages equal to the damages. A contract relies too much on trust. Remove this element and many headaches, heartbreaks, and setbacks are avoided.

This is the problem. Imagine an oracle reporting a false piece of data, your contract being finalized, and then having zero recourse to get refunded your money. Placing trust in an oracle to tell "the weather" as my original post goes when you can just step outside sounds like a recipe for a disaster. There needs to be a human element for consensus on data.

Im an electrician and i likened the fact that Chainlink is analogous to a programmable logic controller, Chainlink is literally the car for the infrastructure that is block chain platforms. Chainlink brings outside data such as a varient as temperature to act as a switch to execute a smart contract which has pre determined mechanisms determined by the contract holder (paid for in link). For example the united nations can send aid of 40 million dollars to a country whos earthquake reached a particular number on the richter scale; this essentially elinmates beaucracy and politics or middleman from the equation improving efficiency possibly within the 30-100% range (Remember henry ford streamlining the manufacturing process for automobiles , its the same deal). Humans are slaves to effieicny, even if you are 10% more effiicent you save that in money, imagine chainlink being used for insurance contracts worth Trillions of dollars because its more EFFICIENT. Yes im autistic, yes i completely understand chainlink and its fundamentally agnostic middle ware applications for the Decrentralised finance space. Chainlink is completely impractical. Consider that we have a contract where im a container company and you have some delicate cargo that can only be inside a container that weighs no more than 500 pounds as 500+ means hazard that yoir cargo gets ruined. How do you put that into a smart contract? You put in a scale that tells 500 pounds was breached? Well whose fault is it? What if the person loading the ship made a mistake and its not my companys fault? Or perhaps it was indeed my subordinates fault for calling the guy who is doing the loading and erroneously claiming that more than 500 pounds is ok. There is simply no way for smart contracts to solve complex issues with liability which is what contract work is all about. All Chainlink would report is that 500 pounds was breached...yeah and?

Warning against Useless Disputes.
14
* Remind people of these things and charge them before God* to stop disputing about words. This serves no useful purpose since it harms those who listen.l
15
Be eager to present yourself as acceptable to God, a workman who causes no disgrace, imparting the word of truth without deviation.m
16
Avoid profane, idle talk, for such people will become more and more godless,n
17
and their teaching will spread like gangrene. Among them are Hymenaeus and Philetus,o
18
who have deviated from the truth by saying that [the] resurrection has already taken place and are upsetting the faith of some.p
19
Nevertheless, God’s solid foundation stands, bearing this inscription, “The Lord knows those who are his”; and, “Let everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord avoid evil.”q

20
In a large household there are vessels not only of gold and silver but also of wood and clay, some for lofty and others for humble use.
21
If anyone cleanses himself of these things, he will be a vessel for lofty use, dedicated, beneficial to the master of the house, ready for every good work.r
22
So turn from youthful desires and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with those who call on the Lord* with purity of heart.s
23
Avoid foolish and ignorant debates, for you know that they breed quarrels.t
24
A slave of the Lord should not quarrel, but should be gentle with everyone, able to teach, tolerant,u
25
correcting opponents with kindness. It may be that God will grant them repentance that leads to knowledge of the truth,v
26
* and that they may return to their senses out of the devil’s snare,w where they are entrapped by him, for his will.

Anon is right here. The transactional capacity is amazing but the storage case is absolute absurdity.
In the past I have been involved with acceleration of LAN WAN phat datasets up to 10Gb and there is no way anything you can buy or build beats a client server + replication model yet.
Under lab conditions you can sort of come close with data chunks floating around at different peers but by the time you solve all the integrity and transactional complexity with STO ops the c/s model has finished and done everything at a fraction of the cost.
Interestingly enough, blockchain is the ideal solution to do the transactional stuff but you have to ask, “why bother?” , unless you are concerned your multi continent data stores are going to be nuked simultaneously.
My personal inkling is that Enterprise and government won’t move on stuff like this until 100gbit interlink between peers is the standard if not mundane.

I thought it was an interesting point how, through working on the "simulation" computers and the "simulated" world, it lead to realizations about the reality they thought was the "real one"

also interesting how his own doppleganger in the other reality above theirs was trying to kill him

very interesting and also funny in a way, since the idea isn't an original one, but rather a very old concept wrapped in a new skin (silicon computer chips)

He is 'hidden' from them because the work that takes place is not so much in the 'material', but he ends up 'influencing' the material.
This 'influence' cannot be pinned down, because it doesn't originate in the material...so, it could be ANYBODY. But, if he was 'elite' or in the Illuminati or things like that, then they would have been able to figure out who it was through energy signatures, bloodline, most likely candidates, etc.
We hear it over, and over, and over. That he has 'God' on his side. Why do people say that? Because he is 'working' in the non-material, which ends up manifesting in the material.
But They don't know how someone could possibly do that, because it is so extremely advanced. They thought no one could be more advanced than them in the non-material aspects of controlling how majic manifests into the material.

Your companies fault for writing a retarded contract. Did you watch the interviews? Someone asked a question almost as retarded as yours and the reply was to not use the wrong tool for the job and you should not expect anything else but stupid shit no happen when you try to do stupid shit. Of course if you wanted you could write a smartcontract to handle this easily. If 500lbs is breached then you personally give the person who screwed up and put more than that in there a blowjob. It's linked to your mecha-exoskeleton to ensure that you open your mouth and Bob up and down until he reaches orgasm and ejaculates in your mouth, or however you decide to define what a blowjob is. That's the beauty of it. The contract is absolute and can't be changed once set in motion. If you draft it right it's impossible to fuck up. You can give all the blowjobs you want when someone breaches the terms of your contract because you wrote it as an if-then clause. You could even write it so when someone accepts $5 from you for a blowjob you give them a blowjob. The sky's the limit here.

(37) His disciples said, "When will you become revealed to us and when shall we see you?"
4
Jesus said, "When you disrobe without being ashamed and take up your garments and place them under your feet like little children and tread on them, then will you see the son of the living one, and you will not be afraid"

IT IS TIME, I AM NOT THE SON OF MAN, I AM HIS SYMBOL, THE SIXTH SEAL HAS BEGUN

Alright It is time.

it has begun, it is time now.

Read the law books in Primes, and then watch what happens when you compare to composite messages.
123578
then the rest are composites, and so on, get a prime number table
remember multiples of 7 and 8 are truths.
This doesn't apply to quotes.
THis doesnt apply to books of men, only law and prophecy.
IN jeremiah it states YHVH wants us to his name, Yahshua is a derivative of YHVH

Find all the evidence.
The magnetic poles are shifting and soon will split into 4
the Sun has turned dark for a coronal hole, letting the wind come.
No there is no doomsday, there is no apocalypse those are bullshit made up by the Beast and the Harlots.

When 100gbit interlink is standard servers will be storing much more data anyways. /biz/ has to go out and ask database and software architects what situations and business demands they faced using a blockchain would be a good solution.

>Chainlink, a token so you can tell the weather to a computer.
That's actually a good summary of what it does, but the computer is the blockchain and the way it tells the weather it's the most secure and tamperproof way that has ever existed in computation history

The simple reality is that cryptocurrency is worthless and doesn't and will never do anything.
The only reason bitcoin has value was because it was the first and it took off due to a generational fad.
Ever since people have been propping up shit like chainlink in a desperate attempt to replicate the success of bitcoin that they missed out on
No one on this board will be rich, cryptos hold no real world value and in 15 years this fad will be dead and everyone will go back to trading stocks

I just clicked on /biz/ for the first time right now and randomly clicked on a thread. This post blew my mind, I've never encountered so many words and concepts totally unknown to me. I could read the text but it meant nothing, like I was having a stroke.
