I came here to post this. I feel stupid because I only 50x'ed my money in the same amount of time. We are living in an unprecedented age where any idiot can make unprecidented returns and op is bragging about barely outpacing inflation by the time you factor in spot premiums for buying and selling.

Many gold miners are up 3x, 5x, 10x, or even 40x, as happened to FVL after Sprott's investment, and even the GDXJ will be going 10x before this bull market is done.

Return on investment if someone bought junior-small caps a month ago: 70%. >>20597543

Return on investment if someone bought Bitcoin a month ago: Precisely zero.

Junior small-caps up 400% since the March lows. Expect them to go 100x.

LOL. What is this, fucking amateur hour? My conservative retirement fund made 50% in the last 6 months. In the meantime my crypto trading stack made like 50% in the last 2 days. If you want exposure to gold you buy miners you moron.

>> No.20648223

>>20648188

Gold is how you actually preserve your wealth. You convert the gains which you make in miners into gold, in order to ensure that they will last. Also, nobody should be without a core position in physical gold, just in case the mines get nationalized, or the whole system suddenly fails and collapses. (See gold's resilience in the March crash vs the miners as an example of this.)

You kinda do if you want to make meaningful amounts of money from nearly nothing. Once I've made it I'll put some into gold, but putting a couple thousand bucks into it won't do anything for you.

/biz/ is a group of degenerate gamblers and they will cry when they lose a staggering amount of money of their play money coins during the next bear market and wish they had put a little aside in a stable investment like gold

Gold well outperforms inflation in a PM bull market. In the 70s bull market it went 25x in the space of a decade. Gold keeping up with inflation is simply a mean truth over time. If, since 1920, you changed between gold and real estate each time one or the other asset-class was comparatively undervalued, you could have changed one house into 500:

Gold has done extremely well in the deflationary environment of Japan. Matthew Crowder of Trader University made a detailed video about this a week or two ago:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w5ffEORwWkk

It also performed very well during the deflationary Great Depression. In that time, Homestake Mining went up 500%; and, as the Dow crashed 90%, Homestake was going up 90%.

The average silver small-cap goes up 150x in a silver bull market. See FMS from 2001-2011. Chainlink is not impressive.

Gold is pretty stupid based on market cap, if I couldn't sell them for 10 years I'd take 21 BTC over 6400 oz of gold.
