Biotech startups is a big ulcer inducing racket. So many hoops that must be jumped thru before you see any Profit. First the drug has to pass all the clinical trials. Most fail during this stage. This takes a while to complete to boot so your spinning your wheels waiting. During which if anything goes wrong your money is gone in an eye blink cause the stock will tank before you even can react most times. Then once they pass all the trials, they gotta clear the FDA. Again, another moment where you can watch your wad just go up in smoke, if the FDA screws them over. Which can be for the smallest little thing. Finally if it clears the FDA, your riding high. Wrong. Your profit is not in the bag yet. That company must be bought out first. Then you'll get your fat payday. If your company doesn't play ball with Big Pharma for some misguided reason. Well all that work and waiting will be for nothing. The company will flounder as Big Pharma puts the screws to them. After all they rejected the buyout so Big Pharma can't let that drug turn into some competitor now can it.
