Yea. I admit that as a skinny white boy I'm scared. But risk versus reward you know. Labour costs are lower and China has been investing in parts of Africa which opens up export oportunities.

I am also apprehensive about the amount of debt incurred by the western nations as a result of the pandemic and I suspect taxes will go up. I like low taxes.

But physical safety aside I would like to know what to expect regarding corruption and maybe even having assets seized given the history there. I'm hoping that's just related to whites who own large tracts of land there and not somebody owning a small industrial facility and giving people jobs.

The large majority of agriculture is still done by white farmers. The quality is good and they're organised. I cannot see how it might be profitable though as the shipping costs might be exorbitant and the profit margin low. Unless you're doing really large volume.

My company, a US distributor for an Asian manufacturer, gets a lot of business inquiries from Africa. Many manufacturers are missing Africa in their distribution network. I would personally go that route as distribution is a fairly simple business to operate and can start very small.

If you just want very basic infrastructure, definitely do distribution. My company began with just one person and a van where the inventory was kept. As the customer base increases, you can easily expand into a small warehouse and even then you only need a couple employees to help with shipping, sales, and order processing.
