Picked up a bag of this, help me out here.

What did I Buy?

>> No.20532330

Basically, an Apple share in 1980.

Vaporware and a lot of food and pet birds for the fraudulent founder. 4 years, 40mm got them a centralized testnet. Smart contracts won’t be on mainnet for over 2 years and they will miss the defi wave entirely. You got scammed by academic parking during a pump. You can still sell before it goes back to 3 cents which it always does after one of its hype based pump cycles.

>> No.20532553

>>20532423
OK.

I basically bought it because I heard that they were going to be going "live with their mainnet" at the end of the month, and Staking begins in August.

Also Smart Contracts by the end of the year would cause it to pump as well.

Seems like the news cycle alone could take it to 25 or 30 cents?

Where is it going to pump to. It already has a hugely inflated MC from scamming in 2017. You need projects with room to grow.

Smart contracts “end of year” means testing basic ideas on a testnet. It will take years to test, vet and debug a new language, compiler and VM design well enough to trust it with finance. When have these larpers EVER met a deadline? Then devs need to adopt this weird Haskell based smart contract language. In reality these guys are just too slow and will be left out of the entire defi wave. The time to look at this is in 2 years IF smart contracts ever work. This always happens with ADA and it always goes back to a few pennies.

The thing Cardano fags don't understand is that the space wants incremental advancments.. not some developer circlejerk that starts over from zero. The next big network will be a better performing ethereum protocol chain without all the cruft and bad management. It will be something like Harmony or Fantom.

by definition, you'll have to wait for gougen. so cardano gets staking & decentralization and smart contracts before ETH gets phase zero. and to think, the eth guys had multiple years head start - looks like cardano did things right after all. and to top it all off:
>bitcoin 50% byzantine resistant
>cardano 50% byzantine resistant with research ongoing to deal with spikes of dishonest majority
>ETH 2.0 25% - 33% byzantine resistant when it is completed someday

some short term price predictions would be more useful than this unsubstantial and circular argument between vaporware shit vs the next apple.

i think ADA can reach 20 cents by Shelley launch, and depending on how well it has performed until then, perhaps even higher into the 30 cent territory by staking august 18th.

the market cap is at around 3 billion, this could triple, and still be under 10 billion, for a short term hype wave, this isnt particularly ridiculous. The FOMO can kick at any minute and the only downside movement so far has been a slight one hinting at a bullish flag formation.

OP should hold for a month.

cardano is promising only when it has updates. Its ambitious but its slow. Cardano will pump close to updates and do nothing the rest of the time. Time between updates is so long that unfortunatelt for you, you could be in for losses until goguen

an alternative bearish scenario could be that this is already priced in and we will just bleed to a more reasonable price from here. Another possibility is BTC having a substantial drop and putting all the alts in chaos.

The latter cannot be accounted for, but the reason i dont think the former is likely is because a coinbase listing can be dropped at any minute and, we have the 2nd big event, staking in the 18th which atttacts long term hodlers.

I dont think the risk is particularly high at this price. Worse case scenario outside a big btc dump is that you make a modest gain between now and staking.

Smart contracts and defi platforms is a trillions dollars game. Ethereum is not even close to reach scalability, low fees, decentralization, reliability needed for it.
Instead we have pajeet scams and high fees.
Cardano is way closer.
Do you think financial institution will use uniswap?
What programming language do you think financial institutions use?
If you don't have at least a little stack of Cardano you risk losing it all.
