I know it's one of the rare coins that has legitimate uses and the gold standard for privacy. But it just doesn't have normie adoption qualities. It's a dinosaur.

these things might change in the future, thus increasing mainstream adoption. i guess even today there are lite wallets or something if you don't care about key safety and privacy too much.

wrong. use a remote node, a light wallet, or have a computer that isn't a dinosaur if you want to sync
>anti virus flags
this is true and is annoying for people who download the gui. I think the dev team is working on fixing this soon. They have to do something to have it compliant with windows but I forget exactly what has to be done.
>have to manually restore files
what?
>clunky and slow
disagree. dynamic block size means transactions take two minutes until the first block and twenty minutes until it is fully confirmed. There will be other scaling solutions in the future as well (payment channels)
> But it just doesn't have normie adoption qualities.
It's gotten so much better. Cake Wallet is becoming very popular, for example.

my expierinece with XMR has been very well.
synced very fast, easy to run the wallet with the AppImage. I just ./xmr-gui-wallet.Appimage

it loads fast, it syncs fast, the transactions are fast. Dunno what this dude is talkin bout. but the fact that he uses winblows is pretty telling am I rite. : )

OP, if you're a casual user just use one of the many light wallets available. Exodus, Coinomi and all the Monero specific ones.

a very good one is this:

Buy BCH on local.bitcoin.com ( in person with cash )
Trade BCH for XMR
