Why does anything beyond base layer need its own token?

Why can't I just fork it?

For base layers the answer would be

- because the system only works if enough people use it, so your memecoin fork is no interest to anyone
- a currency is more useful the more people it is used by, making up your own has no advantage
- money's value is relative anyways so who gives a shit if a pizza costs 1000 or 0.0001 internet coins

So the only reason a new kind of coin would be needed would be a new, better underlying technology, i.e. Cardano over Etherium.

I'll keep reposting this until I get a satisfying answer or the shills fuck off. Same for Christfags btw.
