Hi again guys, not to overspam you all with /g/esque stuff but some folks were interested in an update on the Robinhood Accelerometer project as it developed so I've got a little changelog and vid for you all:
-the update process is fully automated and on a timer
-figured I'd take advantage of Angular's modularity by storing a history of second differences and populating the graph sideways as they're computed, this could potentially be used for third differences if I was on crack
-added parameter info to the top of the table view, so now I can see how that table is requesting data, how often it does so, and how long before it does so again - also an optional name, for readability
-I've further taken advantage of Angular by modularizing the table view itself, now a parent component can load an arbitrary number of RH views with different parameters. The video displays 4 views (non-relative 1 hour lookback on 1 minute check frequency, non-relative 4 hour lookback on 10 minute check frequency, and then 2 repeats of those with relative percentages) and as an added bonus they're performantly wrapped in virtual scroll viewports, which I am smug about.
-threw in some Material; bitches love Material

Probably the most I'll do for it until I have some better idea as to whether or not it'll produce good signals. Pretty stoked for testing!

Overall gains. You’re up money even though you withdrew some of it.
You have to report gains if sold for profit.
Even if you don’t specifically state what happened, they’ll wonder what happened to the rest of the money you put in since it doesn’t just go “nowhere”, especially when it is listed in your account (bank) transactions that it went to a broker. If you blend in, you have nothing to worry about. If they start sniffing around, you better hope you didn’t do anything serious.

If you’re still invested in NKLA, send me your email so I can sign you up for my son’s SPAC. He has a subscription-based lemonade business. But rather than traditional lemonade we are powering the juice with HydroTea Leaves, from these mountains in Guatemala. The leaves make the lemonade taste amazing and you have energy for hours. Actually we have a route mapped out so that you can buy lemonade on our network, subscription based, anywhere you go. We own distribution. We CONTROL the customer. It’s amazing. Come to our IG launching #soon. Leaving your house? Get a Lemonikola. Almost at the office? Get a Lemonikola to power you up before the office. Lose all your $ on NKLA? Don’t worry you still have Lemonikola, and we are doing a raise based off our 2030 forecast. My son may have lost interest by then, but not to worry, he will be stepping down as CEO so he can focus on battling naysayers on Twitter and on plotting share liquidation/exit.

kind of a scam desu, I wish the short term gains tax was set to higher brackets. Long term taxes are more reasonable. I fear for the day short sellers are taxes at a higher bracket, though of course there are ways around this with inverse stocks and alternative assets.

I'm thinking of putting some money into BYND and AZN.

BYND has been semi-popular for a year now, has gotten into several restaurant chains temporarily (Mcdonalds, KFC, China) but hasn't shown any moons related to any of those news. It has been steadily increasing now that corona forced us to re-think real meat because of contamination concerns, and I'm wondering if it will use that gained traction to continue after post-corona. If they can make the meat cost less than real meat then I can easily see a huge boost.

AZN is a pharmaceutical company that is working on a vaccine. What separates this from the other hundreds of companies doing the same thing is that AZN has been steadily growing already completely unrelated to corona. Even if it doesn't create a vaccine, I think it will still just keep growing. It's had a few controversies in the past but none of them have severely damaged the stock.

im not keeping it all in one stock and then realizing it 10 years later like some boomer

im flipping shit around all day LOL

what dont you understand about that

but im being punished for that because i automatically have to pay taxes once i do JUST ONE swap

and people who dont look at their broker at all for 10 years dont have to pay taxes on their gains taht whole time

yet me being someone who actually pays attention i have to pay the whole time

i recall reading that automated share sales are one of the neat ways of getting around insider trading regulations.

you set a fixed sell date in the contract, then release news/earnings/whatever around that time and allow the owner of the shares to cancel selling at his discretion. if he cancels (because he expects share price to go up) then no trade took place and its not insider trading; if he allows it to sell then it still doesn't count as insider trading because he hasn't officially made an intervening choice to sell them.

While an increasing number of restaurant chains are adding it to the menu, I just gotta say that beyond meat burgers both smell and taste awful. In the beginning, there wasn't that much competition in the veggie meat area, but that's vastly changed over the years. More companies are coming out with better alternatives than beyond meats. If you're looking to invest into some sort of veggie meat that actually tastes good and is pretty similar to meat, check out LightLife. Its owned by Maple Leaf Foods. Their burgers, sausage and bacon are vastly superior in every fucking way compared to beyond meat. Beyond meat would have to change their recipe to something actually edible before I'd put any money into it.

WELLLLLLL It sounds like the EU leaders spent an ENTIRE WEEKEND bickering over their 750 billion euro recovery fund. And they've reached a stalemate.

That's right, the money that the market is expecting to be used to help a huge segment of the global economy is being held up by European bickering.
So if you want to know why the market is going to be shaky today, that's a big reason. OH AND LETS SEE IF MCCONNELL FUCKS UP THE US RELIEF SPENDING TOO BECAUSE HE LOVES THAT SHIT.

Zoom out. Gold as a volatile asset has large swings even when in a gold bull market that completely annihilates the leveraging gains.
Leveraged commodity ETFs share a very similar problem to buying puts/calls around earnings. They will be traded based on the futures price but move on the long term based on the spot price which means you are always playing a losing game with a perpetual IV crush. This on top of the expense ratios.
JNUG works for short term holds but you need to dump it if gold sees even a slight correction by 10%

I first tried beyond meat last year, so either June or July 2019. I last had it 2 weeks ago. I went to a BBQ and a friend of mine wanted to test if I could tell the difference between beyond meat and lightlife. I preferred the lightlife hands down. I'm not a fan of beyond meat, but I wouldn't turn it down if I was offered it. It's just there are so many other options I would choose before picking beyond meat. Everyone's taste is different, so I'd say if you were gonna invest in something solely for the food, give it a try yourself and see what you think of the taste. I have one friend that loves beyond meat and 2 friends that love lightlife, but that's a small sample size. Not to mention the stock price itself is super high. I'd say your better off doing your own DD and try and find the next company that'll reach a similar valuation as beyond meat is currently. My bet is on Maple Leaf.

some of my friends use robinhood and recommended it to me
but I’m distrust of it due to the sheer amount of ads I’ve gotten for em

Depends where you are and what you're looking to do.

I got spammed with fuckloads of ads for Trading212, but it actually turned out to be good
