I honestly can’t get mad anymore and call retards like this out. I just feel sad for them, knowing there’s no way for them to see the truth because they lack every sense of abstract thinking and inevitably will be brutally confronted with the hard reality.

What is it that makes people invest in one crypto over the other?

It's obvious that questions of tech or utility have nothing to do with it; people fall into different crypto "communities" as a function of personality and temperament. So what x-factor of personality or temperament makes someone choose one other the other? Like XRP over Link, or vice-versa?

The human brain is crazy. You’d think that holding a losing asset for 3 years while everything else has been going up would make you realize you aren’t holding a winner. Many do realize it early and exit, but the ones who dont stay and grow even stronger in their delusion because they don’t want to admit they were wrong. Them admitting to themselves they were wrong and did something stupid is so painful that their brain contorts reality to keep that thought away.

This is a prime example:
>>20483354

This cognitive function is also how cults form. Once all the reasonable people are out the ideas get so extreme because its just the delusional in an echo chamber. It becomes an “us vs them” mentality. The people left holding XRP are basically those that have severe personality deficiencies and cannot admit to themselves fault or mistake. They will ride this ship to the ground and construct new narratives along the way that protect themselves from having to face accountability.

In terms of technology, XRP is ancient like Bitcoin. Sure it's 1000x faster than BTC, but it's not programmable like ETH, which means you can't deploy smart contracts on it. Reminder that smart contracts are literally at the core of this DeFi bullrun, so this is really bad for XRP adoption.
There's some news that they are planning to add smart contracts to XRP, but at this point it might just be too late. XLM already does everything XRP does while also being programmable, and there's now a dozen other blockchains around that are super fast and programmable. Add to that ETH 2.0 potentially being way faster than XRP while already having the majority of the market conquered, that it just feels like Ripple is way behind and just trying to catch up.

>> No.20488113

>>20488069
Why is XRP rank #4 then?

>> No.20488254

>>20488113
Rank has very little to do with potential of a block chain. BTC is number 1 purely because it has the largest network, but in terms of practicality it does nothing. BSV is rank 7 and it's literally a scam.
I'm just trying to give you an objective look of the current state o XRP. It's possible that Ripple can add programability to XRP really fast, and it manages to attract a lot of developers from the ethereum chain to it. But until that happens, i'm not touching it.

>> No.20488420

Exactly. XRP is one gigantic sinking ship that is going to be seated full of angry boomers in about 12-24 months

>> No.20489030

I think XRP will have a chance when the golden crypto bull run came if it's not obsolescence by then. Some people may actually buy in and give it a second life. This is actually the game of greater fool.
