to be able to, in theory, trustlessly collect data from sources that lack typical APIs for such things—this is serious advancement. you're no longer relying on platforms to integrate with chainlink—chainlink is, in theory, able to integrate with everything as it is, and allow for automated contracts to operate with data from everything, already.
